About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, result-driven Sr. HR Generalist to support the strategic integration of compliance regulations and ethical standards into business operations through technology, training, and expert collaboration. The role also oversees immigration sponsorship processes and case management, as well as leaves of absence.  The ideal candidate will exhibit a proactive mindset, thrive in a fast-paced environment, work independently, and contribute effectively to our global HR initiatives.  This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited for an experienced HR operations professional who thrives in complex, multi-country environments and brings rigor to people processes during growth and transformation. 


What you'll do

HR Operations & Project Support 

  • Lead to cross-functional HR initiatives by supporting project coordination and identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and alignment across key programs  
  • Draft internal guides, templates, and process documentation to increase understanding of relevant HR policies across the organization and maintains Confluence pages updated 
  • Support adoption and improvement of HR ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to create structure, improve employee support, and strengthen audit trails. 
  • Support Global HR Operations initiatives and help drive consistency across U.S., Canada, EMEA, and EOR-supported regions.   

Immigration Management  

  • Partner with outside immigration counsel to support H-1B, TN, LMIA and other employment-based immigration processes, ensuring timely document preparation and internal coordination  
  • Maintain immigration records and track key deadlines, supporting compliance with immigration requirements and internal policies  
  • Support onboarding activities for employees on work visas by providing guidance on visa timelines and processes  
  • Drive RFP process, vendor evaluation and management   

Leave of Absence Management  

  • Coordinate employee leave requests (e.g., FMLA, parental, disability), ensuring compliance with applicable country, federal, state, province and local regulations  
  • Support employees and managers throughout the leave lifecycle, providing guidance on eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work coordination  
  • Maintain accurate leave records and partner with payroll to ensure proper time tracking and pay continuity  
  • Track anticipated return dates and leave deadlines using internal tools to support timely follow-up and coordination  

Compliance  

  • Aligns HR processes such as onboarding, termination, access removal with SOC 2/SOX controls to protect data integrity and privacy 
  • Maintain and update HR policies for SOC 2/SOX alignment 
  • Generate and manage audit-ready documentation (training logs, policy acknowledgments) 
  • Conduct internal audits of HR processes to verify compliance with internal controls and SOC 2/SOX requirements
  • Serve as a key liaison for internal and external audits, providing HR evidence 
  • Partner with IT and Security teams to ensure proper data access controls and timely provisioning/de-provisioning of systems 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience  
  • 7+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Specialist role  
  • Experience with immigration processes and leave of absence regulations  
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills; strong attention to detail and discretion with confidential information  
  • Ability to effectively relay information between employees, legal counsel, and management 
  • Knowledge of data privacy principles (GDPR) and SOC 2/SOX principles 
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, data management, and MS Office suite  
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment  
  • Ability to remain flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities and projects as business needs evolve 
  • High-tech industry experience
