About Posh

We are all social creatures, but the dominant “social” companies today have evolved into digital loneliness machines, driving isolation, anxiety, and mental health challenges around the world.

Human connection is lost. Posh is a beacon guiding us back.

Posh enables anyone to build an IRL community based on shared interests, while connecting consumers with the communities of people just like them. Founded by event organizers who were frustrated with the growing loneliness epidemic and the tools available to build their own event brand, we’ve built the ultimate platform for launching, monetizing, and finding IRL communities of people just like you. In just 6 years, Posh has grown to a team of 70, expanded to 8M+ users, secured $70m in venture funding, and facilitated over $350M in transactions.

About The Role

As a Growth Engineer at Posh, you will be joining a talented, highly cross-functional, rapidly scaling engineering team, critical in driving user acquisition, engagement, and retention through innovative and data-driven strategies.

You excel in your technical skills paired with strong product thinking and communication. In this role, you won’t just work alongside other Growth engineers, you’ll regularly collaborate with teams across Engineering, Product, and Data to spearhead experimentation and growth features on the platform. You’ll drive impact through fast-paced, incremental and innovative projects that touch all parts of our tech stack.

This is an in-person position at our New York City office located in the heart of SoHo, where you'll be part of a team that's revolutionizing how people connect in the real world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute full-stack engineering features and growth experiments across our two sided marketplace to increase user acquisition, retention, and engagement.

  • Collaborate with Product, UXR, and Data to turn early hypotheses into iterative high-impact tests.

  • Take a data-oriented approach to everything you build, integrating scalable tracking systems to provide actionable insights to cross-functional stakeholders that empower the broader product roadmap.

  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Engineering Team, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

  • Implement feature gating, A/B testing or experiments via experimentation platforms (e.g., StatSig, LaunchDarkly).

Ideal Candidate:
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex technical projects with significant business impact

  • Proficiency in relevant full-stack technologies (e.g., React, React Native, Typescript, AWS or similar cloud providers, etc.), with experience in either mobile app development or backend systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for creating products that connect people in the real world.

  • Strong knowledge of product metrics, funnels, and user lifecycle stages.

  • Ability to lead initiatives, mentor others, and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Strong understanding of growth strategies, experimentation frameworks, and metrics-driven decision-making.

  • Bonus: Experience working at fast-paced early stage consumer, social, and/or marketplace companies.

When applying, please include links to your GitHub profile or a portfolio of past projects.
