We're not waiting for the future to arrive. We're shaping it, one bold step at a time. To those who see AI as a driver of progress, come build the future together.
The Crown Is Yours
As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you'll architect and build the internal platforms that power the developer experience for over 2,000 engineers at DraftKings. You'll lead with deep technical expertise, drive the end-to-end development of tools, systems, and AI-powered capabilities that accelerate how teams ship high-quality software. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll shape technical strategy, own platform implementation, and mentor engineers across squads.
What you'll do
  • Architect and lead the development of scalable, developer-focused platforms that improve the software development lifecycle-including IDE integration, code review automation, and intelligent workflow tooling.
  • Design and implement AI-powered capabilities that elevate engineering productivity, such as contextual code assistance, automated documentation, and predictive debugging tools.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to define and track developer productivity metrics, using data insights to drive tooling and platform improvements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and AI developer tools through rigorous technical assessments and proof-of-concepts, collaborating with vendors and internal teams.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with Platform, Product, and AI Research teams to deliver cohesive, impactful solutions across the engineering organization.
  • Champion best practices in environment setup, CI/CD pipeline optimization, and developer onboarding to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience across teams.
  • Mentor engineers across squads and lead architectural discussions that drive platform scalability, technical excellence, and innovation.

What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field-or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • At least 7 years of experience leading engineering initiatives focused on developer platforms, tooling, or internal productivity infrastructure at scale.
  • A strong background in designing and building CI/CD systems, development frameworks, or engineering enablement tools for large teams.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI technologies into software workflows (e.g., code generation, summarization, documentation, or review automation).
  • Proficiency with modern development infrastructure such as Bitbucket, GitOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or other cloud environments.
  • Ability to define and execute strategic, cross-functional initiatives that enhance how engineering teams build, test, and deploy software.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A data-driven mindset with a track record of using metrics to assess and improve developer workflows.
  • A collaborative leadership approach that builds trust, drives alignment, and fosters engineering excellence across teams.
