You will work on cutting-edge research, deploy state-of-the-art proprietary models — see our work on ScribeAgenthere —to millions of users, and be at the forefront of the AI field.

About this role

In this role, you will be part of our growing team of 5 elite engineers trained at the world's best ML/AI programs. The hiring manager is Mouad Hadji, and you will be responsible for:

  • Driving the AI vision for the company, continuously refining it based on user needs, market dynamics, and cutting-edge research.

  • Exploring and applying cutting-edge AI techniques to translate innovations into valuable features for our millions of users

  • Spearheading the end-to-end development of our state-of-the-art proprietary models, ensuring they deliver exceptional user experiences

  • Designing experiments and rapidly iterating to increase the performance of our models with regard to evaluation metrics

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with our very talented engineering and product management teams to deliver scalable solutions

Check out this post from our amazing ML Engineer, Atishay Jain, about what it's like to build at Scribe.

About you

You’d be a great fit for this role if you:

  • Have 2+ years of hands-on experience training large language models leveraging multiple modalities, including text and images

  • Prioritize user impact over technical complexity for its own sake, thoughtfully choosing the right tools and approaches

  • Demonstrate strong intuitions of fundamental ML concepts (e.g., fluency in overfitting, generalization, back-propagation, etc.)

  • Have strong software engineering skills (Python, Jupyter, etc.) and experience with distributed training frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, Accelerate, FSDP)

  • Have experience with alignment techniques (instruction-based finetuning, RLHF, etc.)

  • Excel at ideation, love to rapidly test emerging techniques, and turn your innovative ideas into practical applications

  • Exhibit an owner mentality and enjoy independently identifying challenges, proposing thoughtful solutions, and fully owning outcomes

  • Have a track record of successfully owning projects from start to finish

  • Collaborate exceptionally well, recognizing that teamwork amplifies impact, and you enjoy inspiring and elevating your team

  • Are passionate about the future of AI agents, and eager to shape it
