Who We Are:

At TwelveLabs, we are pioneering the development of cutting-edge multimodal foundation models that have the ability to comprehend videos just like humans do. Our models have redefined the standards in video-language modeling, empowering us with more intuitive and far-reaching capabilities, and fundamentally transforming the way we interact with and analyze various forms of media.

With a remarkable $107 million in Seed and Series A funding, our company is backed by top-tier venture capital firms such as NVIDIA’s NVentures, NEA, Radical Ventures, and Index Ventures, and prominent AI visionaries and founders such as Fei-Fei Li, Silvio Savarese, Alexandr Wang, and more. Headquartered in San Francisco, with an influential APAC presence in Seoul, our global footprint underscores our commitment to driving worldwide innovation.

We are a global company that values the uniqueness of each person’s journey. It is the differences in our cultural, educational, and life experiences that allow us to constantly challenge the status quo. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by our mission and eager to make an impact as we push the bounds of technology to transform the world. Join us as we revolutionize video understanding and multimodal AI.

In this role, you will
  • Own end-to-end delivery of end user facing applications, from concept → launch → iteration, with clear success metrics.

  • Drive an extreme iteration-speed culture: small batches, weekly shipping, tight feedback loops and rapid experimentation, without sacrificing reliability.

  • Set and enforce a world-class product craft bar: interaction quality, performance, accessibility and “consumer-grade” polish across every release.

  • Build, lead, and grow a multi-disciplinary team (frontend, backend, product engineering): hiring, coaching, performance management and raising the bar.

  • Establish strong execution mechanisms: crisp requirements, clear ownership, predictable delivery, and principled trade-offs across cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Be a player-coach: stay hands-on where it unlocks speed or quality (critical-path prototypes, architectural spikes, mentoring via code reviews and unblocking execution).

  • Ensure production readiness: testing strategy, instrumentation, incident hygiene, and continuous improvement of quality, latency, and cost-to-serve for application workflows.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading product/application engineering teams with Staff level ICs.

  • Track record of building high-quality, consumer-grade video or multi-modal products with exceptional UI/UX craft, including performance and usability excellence.

  • Demonstrated experience building a high velocity, fast iteration culture.

  • Strong engineering fundamentals in testing strategy, CI/CD and operational readiness for production.

  • Excellent people leadership: hiring, performance management, coaching, and growing future leaders.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure where none exists—without slowing down.

  • Background in fast-scaling startups or world class consumer facing product organizations.

Bonus
  • Experience building agentic applications on top of foundation models or data-heavy systems translating model capability into product value.

Even if there are a few checkboxes that aren’t ticked through your prior experience, we still encourage you to apply! If you are a 0-1 achiever, a ferocious learner, and a kind and fun team player who motivates others, you will find a home at TwelveLabs.
