Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Finance, e.l.f. Brands will serve as a key finance partner for the e.l.f. Brands (e.l.f. Cosmetics, e.l.f. SKIN and e.l.f. Hair), providing financial leadership, insights, and decision support to help drive sustainable, profitable growth. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, e.l.f. Brands, this role will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Corporate FP&A and other cross-functional teams to translate business strategies and commercial opportunities into financial outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial and analytical capabilities with a commercial mindset and an ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This individual will play an important role in understanding the drivers of brand performance, identifying opportunities and risks, and helping business leaders make informed decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to e.l.f. Brands leadership and cross-functional teams, providing financial insights and recommendations that support growth and profitability.
- Lead key elements of brand financial planning, including annual operating plans, forecasts, long-range planning, and ongoing performance management.
- Develop a deep understanding of e.l.f. Brands performance and underlying drivers, including revenue, gross margin, marketing investment, operating expenses, and profitability.
- Partner closely with sales and commercial teams to evaluate customer and channel performance, retail opportunities, promotional activity, new distribution, and other growth initiatives.
- Establish milestones, KPIs, and sensitivity cases connecting strategic choices to P&L, balance sheet, and cash outcomes.
- Analyze actual performance versus plan and forecast, identify key business drivers and trends, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to both finance and non-finance audiences, including senior leadership.
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships and establish Finance as a proactive, solutions-oriented partner to the business.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within CPG/beauty, retail, or another high-growth consumer environment.
- Experience in brand FP&A or commercial finance strongly preferred. Experience evaluating retailer/customer economics, channel performance, promotional investments, distribution opportunities, or other customer-level growth initiatives would be particularly valuable.
- Demonstrated experience with financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and financial modeling.
- Strong understanding of P&L drivers and the ability to connect commercial and operational activity to financial performance.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with business leaders and influencing decisions through financial analysis and insights.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to move between detailed analysis and the broader strategic picture.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to distill complex analyses into clear recommendations.
- Comfortable operating with speed, ambiguity, and evolving priorities in a high-growth environment.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities; experience with financial planning, BI, and/or ERP systems preferred.
The base salary range for this role is listed above.
Total compensation includes base salary, annual company-based performance bonus, and equity. Under e.l.f.’s annual bonus program, employees are eligible to earn up to 200% of their target bonus when company performance exceeds defined goals. In addition, e.l.f. provides a variety of other benefits to employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, gender neutral parental leave, and unlimited paid time off. The amount of total compensation (including base salary) offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including geographic location, experience, specific skills, and qualifications.
