Senior Manager, FP&A

The Senior Manager, FP&A is responsible for supporting and scaling the Company's financial planning and analysis capabilities for a growing, publicly traded biopharmaceutical organization preparing for commercial launch. This role will partner closely with the Senior Director, Finance & Controller and functional leaders to manage departmental budgets, run budget and forecast processes, analyze actual results versus budget, develop management reporting and dashboards, and support the implementation and ongoing use of Adaptive Planning. The role requires strong FP&A fundamentals, commercial finance experience, and the ability to translate financial data into clear insights and actions for business leaders.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support the annual budget and lead periodic forecast, and long-range planning cycles, including calendars, templates, assumptions, and consolidation of results.
  • Serve as a key FP&A business partner to function heads, managing departmental budgets and surfacing variances, risks, and opportunities versus plan.
  • Own Adaptive Planning administration and enhancement, including model maintenance, data integrity, dashboards, reporting, user support, and process improvements.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly actual-to-budget reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting packages, ensuring alignment across NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, and budget owners.
  • Support commercial FP&A activities related to launch readiness, including analysis of sales force expenses, market access, patient services, T&E, fleet, distribution/3PL, revenue, gross-to-net, inventory, and COGS.
  • Provide financial analysis for business cases, scenario planning, and resource allocation discussions across R&D, G&A, and commercial functions, delivered in clear, executive-ready materials.
  • Help build scalable FP&A processes, reporting standards, and planning governance appropriate for a SOX-compliant public company environment.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong FP&A fundamentals, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with the ability to manage detailed analyses while communicating key conclusions clearly.
  • Strong PowerPoint and executive communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise, accurate, and visually clear management materials.
  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to build credibility with function heads, challenge assumptions constructively, and influence decisions through data.
  • Comfortable operating with process discipline in a SOX/public-company control environment.
  • Highly organized and adaptable, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This role does not have direct supervisory responsibility initially. The Senior Manager, FP&A will work closely with the Senior Director, Finance & Controller and cross-functional budget owners, and may help coordinate work across Finance, Accounting, and external partners. The scope of supervisory responsibility may evolve as the FP&A function grows.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required; an MBA, CPA, or other advanced finance/accounting credential is a plus.
  • 6-8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance, accounting, or business planning roles, preferably with experience in a public company environment.
  • Biotech, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences experience is required; commercial finance or launch readiness experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning is strongly preferred; experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with functional leaders, manage departmental budgets, prepare executive-ready reporting, and support a SOX-compliant finance environment.

Travel

  • This position requires up to 10% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.

This position is eligible for standard Company benefits including medical, dental, vision, time off and 401K, as well as participating in Mineralys incentive plans are contingent on achievement of personal and company performance.
