Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hello, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub in San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations. We offer flexibility in how and where you work. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

About the Investor Relations Team

Investor Relations is a core function within our Finance team. It sits at the unique intersection of business, finance and communications. The role of IR is to gain a deep understanding of Canva’s strategic path and competitive positioning, as well as its operational and financial underpinnings, and to use that knowledge to build strong relationships with the world’s leading investors, research analysts and bankers.

About the Role

We're building our Investor Relations function across Australia and the US, and this role sits at the heart of it. As Senior Manager, Investor Relations, you'll be a key member of a small, high-impact IR team, reporting to our Head of Investor Relations.

You'll work closely with both the Head of IR and a senior team member in Australia, and will run the engine behind our IR program: producing the materials, running the processes, and supporting the relationships that keep our investor communications sharp and consistent. This is a hands-on, executional role — you'll own deliverables end-to-end, not just support them.

You'll work cross-functionally with FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Legal, Data Science, Growth and Communications, and you'll have direct exposure to senior leadership and the investment community.

What you’ll do

Investor communications & content

  • Draft and produce core IR materials — shareholder letters, investor presentations, Q&A documents, and fact sheets

  • Support the development of our equity narrative, including working closely with our Data Science team to identify and measure the relevant metrics across our business

  • Monitor sell-side analyst reports for the company, peer companies and relevant industry analysis — summarizing key takeaways for the team

  • Track competitor IR activity, investor days, and earnings calls; flag relevant insights to the IR team and finance leadership

Earnings process

  • While Canva is not a public company, we do provide quarterly reporting and shareholder letters to our private investors. For this, you will need to:

    • Run the operational side of our quarterly earnings cycle — managing timelines, coordinating across teams, and keeping all work streams on track

    • Draft earnings materials and work with FP&A and Accounting to ensure accuracy of all financial content

    • Prepare Q&A documents and briefing materials for the CFO and leadership

    • Coordinate logistics for any mock earnings calls that are conducted

Investor & sell-side research analyst relations

  • Manage day-to-day investor and analyst inquiries, responding promptly and in line with our disclosure policies

  • Help plan and coordinate investor events (including our annual investor session at our Canva Create event in the US), investor conferences, non-deal roadshows, and one-on-one meetings — including scheduling, materials, and logistics

  • Attend investor conferences and events as needed

  • Maintain and update our investor CRM and contact database, tracking engagement and meeting history

  • Support the IR team in building and nurturing relationships with institutional investors and sell-side analysts

What we're looking for

  • 7-10+ years of experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, or public company finance
  • Strong financial acumen — comfortable working with SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, Rule of 40) and translating them into investor-friendly language

  • Excellent written communication skills; you can produce polished, accurate content under deadline pressure

  • Strong project management instincts — you track details, hit deadlines, and proactively flag issues before they become problems

  • Working knowledge of SEC disclosure requirements and public company communications norms (Reg FD, quiet periods, 10-K/10-Q, 8-K)

  • Exposure to using AI in day to day problem solving, and willingness to experiment with how to use AI tools to make every day tasks more efficient

  • Nice to have

    • Technology industry experience and experience in fast-paced environments, is desired.

    • MBA or progress toward a CFA designation
