Reports to: Head of Growth

This is a hybrid role based in Culver City, CA, with in-person work at our office. We welcome candidates outside Los Angeles who can relocate by their start date or on an agreed timeline.

About dot cards

dot.cards is building the platform for what happens after people connect in the real world. Our connected hardware and software help individuals and businesses share information and build relationships. With more than 2.5 million devices sold, we combine real-world distribution with a growing software platform spanning digital profiles, mobile apps, and subscription products. We are a revenue-backed company based in Los Angeles, entering our next phase of growth.

The role

We are hiring a Senior Manager, Lifecycle Marketing & Retention to build and lead our lifecycle marketing function. You will own the lifecycle funnels for our mobile app, consumer subscriptions, and ecommerce business, helping customers discover value, build product habits, and grow with dot.cards.

Reporting to the Head of Growth, you will define the customer lifecycle, identify the moments that lead to lasting engagement, and establish the milestones and metrics that guide our growth. You will combine customer insight, behavioral data, and creative thinking to improve activation, conversion, and retention across our products.

This is a senior, hands-on builder role. You will set priorities and personally build, launch, measure, and improve lifecycle programs, working closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Design. You can bring deep consumer app or subscription experience and apply it across the broader customer journey; prior experience across all three business models is not required.

What you will own
  • Lifecycle strategy and roadmap. Define customer journeys, lifecycle stages, activation milestones, and growth priorities across our products.

  • Mobile app lifecycle. Own the mobile app lifecycle funnel from install and signup through onboarding, activation, feature adoption, ongoing engagement, and reactivation. Help users reach meaningful value sooner and build consistent product habits.

  • Consumer subscription lifecycle. Own the Profile+ lifecycle funnel from free-to-trial and trial-to-paid conversion through adoption, renewal, retention, and win-back. Grow retained subscribers and customer lifetime value.

  • Ecommerce lifecycle. Own the ecommerce lifecycle funnel from lead capture and nurture through first purchase, cart and checkout recovery, post-purchase engagement, and repeat purchase. Improve purchase conversion and incremental revenue.

  • Customer communications. Build, launch, and improve personalized email, SMS, push, and in-app programs, including audience selection, messaging, journey logic, and pre-launch QA.

  • Measurement and experimentation. Establish funnel KPIs and use cohorts, segmentation, and experiments to improve activation, trial-to-paid conversion, retained subscribers, churn, repeat purchase, and incremental revenue. Connect program results to business outcomes.

  • Lifecycle platform and creative quality. Own Customer.io, behavioral segmentation, personalization, and the quality and consistency of lifecycle messaging. Define event, audience, and data requirements with Product, Engineering, and Data, and validate that journeys trigger and measure correctly.

  • Cross-functional growth initiatives. Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and Design to improve customer journeys across ecommerce, mobile, and web.

What we are looking for
  • Deep lifecycle experience in a consumer app or subscription business, with a track record of independently building and improving programs from strategy through execution.

  • Evidence of measurable improvements in activation, conversion, retention, churn, or customer lifetime value. Be ready to explain the starting point, what you changed, how you measured it, and the result.

  • Advanced, hands-on experience with Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, or a comparable event-driven lifecycle platform, including behavioral segmentation, personalization, and multichannel journeys.

  • Strong analytical skills across funnels, cohorts, and experimentation, with the ability to connect customer behavior to business performance.

  • Technical fluency with customer data and event-driven marketing. You can define event and audience requirements, troubleshoot journey logic, and work effectively with Product, Engineering, and Data; software development experience is not required.

  • Excellent writing and creative judgment, with experience shaping messaging and directing creative work across the customer journey.

  • Strong ownership, curiosity, and initiative. You can bring structure to an open-ended opportunity, make thoughtful decisions, and lead cross-functional work through to results.

Nice to have
  • Hands-on Customer.io experience.

  • Experience with connected hardware and companion mobile apps.

  • Experience spanning ecommerce and recurring-revenue products.

  • Experience launching mobile push, SMS, or in-app messaging programs.

  • SQL and product analytics fluency.

Compensation

$130,000–$160,000 annual base salary, based on relevant experience and skills.
