Lead M&A integrations from LOI through post-close: translate deal thesis into integration goals, run the Integration Management Office, build playbooks and Day 1/Day 100 plans, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks and dependencies, track KPIs and synergies, support talent and change management, and standardize integration tools and governance.

MongoDB is hiring a Senior Manager, M&A Integration to help build and run the operational backbone for how MongoDB integrates its acquisitions, translating each deal thesis into a durable business outcome.

As the Senior Manager, M&A Integration, you’ll help ensure acquisitions are integrated successfully and that the value outlined in each deal is realized. You may provide input during diligence to help flag integration risks, and you will lead integration planning and execution from LOI through post-close for assigned deals, reporting to the Chief of Staff to the CFO and partnering closely with our Corporate Development team. You'll coordinate across every functional team involved in a deal — Legal, HR, Finance & Accounting, IT, Go-to-Market, Marketing, and Product & Technology. You and the Chief of Staff together will support the Integration Management Office (IMO): defining workstreams, building the master integration plan, and supporting governance cadence for each deal.

This is a hands-on execution role with real ownership of individual deal integrations. You’ll help build out MongoDB’s integration playbook – standard plans, checklists, templates – turning deal-by-deal efforts into more consistent, repeatable practices alongside the Chief of Staff.

This role is ideal for someone who has led M&A integration workstreams before and knows how to bring structure to the ambiguity of a newly closed deal. You know how to drive cross-functional execution without formal authority, operate with autonomy within a defined framework, move fluidly between Day 1 planning, synergy tracking, and status reporting, and take ownership of outcomes rather than waiting to be told what to do. This role may flex across multiple concurrent deals depending on the pace of acquisitions.

This role can be based in New York City, Austin, or Palo Alto for our hybrid working model or remotely in the United States.

What You'll Do

Integration Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with Corporate Development from LOI onward to translate the deal thesis into clear integration goals, success criteria, and a high-level operating model for each transaction
  • Build and maintain MongoDB's integration playbook — standard plans, Day 1/Day 100 checklists, communications templates, and KPI frameworks — refining it deal by deal alongside the Chief of Staff
  • Support governance for each transaction, including defined workstreams, a master integration plan, and clear DRIs (Directly Responsible Individuals) by function

Cross-Functional Execution (Integration Management Office)

  • Serve as the day-to-day integration lead for assigned deals, supporting the governance cadence (standups, cross-functional reviews, status updates) and holding business owners across Legal, HR, Finance & Accounting, IT, Go-to-Market, Marketing, and Product & Technology accountable to plan
  • Manage dependencies and risks across workstreams, help facilitate decisions and trade-offs across teams, and escalate material issues to the Chief of Staff and Corporate Development
  • Own Day 1 and Day 100 readiness for assigned transactions, prioritizing across concurrent deals as needed

People & Change Management

  • Partner closely with HR on Day 1 planning, org design and role mapping, and retention and engagement plans for critical acquired talent
  • Track talent risk indicators — attrition, engagement, manager feedback — and flag concerns and recommended interventions to protect the acquired team’s strengths
  • Serve as a steady point of contact for acquired employees during transition, helping them navigate MongoDB and connect with the right stakeholders

Reporting & Synergy Realization

  • Track integration KPIs per deal and partner with Corp Dev and FP&A to tie progress back to the original deal thesis and financial model, calling out variance and recommended course corrections
  • Maintain a deal-level view of status, risks, and interdependencies, and support the Chief of Staff in maintaining a portfolio-level view across active integrations
  • Present integration status and progress for assigned deals, in partnership with the Chief of Staff, to relevant stakeholders

Process Support

  • Build and maintain MongoDB's integration toolkit — standard plans, checklists, templates, and KPI libraries
  • Engage early in the deal lifecycle to assess integration complexity and risk, and highlight integration implications during evaluation and negotiation
  • Use AI-enabled tools to help standardize and scale playbooks, trackers, and governance templates for future transactions
  • Contribute to retrospectives after major integrations and help incorporate lessons learned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 8 years of progressive professional experience, including at least 5 years leading or directly supporting M&A integration, post-merger integration consulting, corporate development integration, or complex cross-functional transformation programs. Experience within a technology or software organization is strongly preferred
  • Experience owning integration workstreams or full integrations for individual deals, with clear accountability from planning through post-close execution
  • Experience partnering with Corporate Development from LOI through close
  • Experience across deal types, including product and talent tuck-ins
  • Strong program management discipline — structured planning, risk and dependency management, and clear, concise communication of status, trade-offs, and recommendations
  • Comfort operating cross-functionally and presenting status to senior stakeholders, with autonomy within a defined framework
  • Cross-functional depth across Legal, HR, IT, Finance & Accounting, Go-to-Market, Marketing, and Product & Technology, including experience managing sensitive situations with acquired leaders and employees
  • Change management experience — comfortable with the people and cultural side of integration, not just process and systems
  • High-ownership, low-ego operator who thrives in ambiguous, deal-driven environments
  • Highly trustworthy — you exercise sound judgment and discretion working on confidential transactions
