About This Job

Dutchie is hiring a Senior Manager, Payments Risk to own the systems, models, and cross-functional programs that keep loss, returns, and fraud down while keeping good users moving.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is happiest in the data. You'll do the analytical work yourself and set direction for the analysts on your team. You'll own our core risk tooling, partner directly with Product and Engineering to ship risk controls, and lead risk-reduction projects cross-functionally with ACH Operations. This is a role where you dive into the data and help set strategy.

What You'll Do…
  • Risk platform. End-to-end ownership of Sift and Plaid Signal — rules, models, thresholds, score tuning, and the feedback loops that keep them sharp. You'll treat these as products you continuously improve, not tools you configure once.
  • Identity & fraud controls. Design and stand up controls that block fraudulent users while balancing good-user friction.
  • Loss, returns, and fraud reduction. Own the metrics and report progress.
  • Cross-functional risk programs. Lead risk-related initiatives with ACH Operations and drive them to measurable outcomes.
  • Product & Engineering partnership. Work directly with PMs and engineers bringing the data and the "why" to every conversation, not just requirements.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years in payments risk / fraud, with demonstrated ownership of loss and fraud outcomes and the metrics to prove it
  • Strong data analysis chops — you write your own Python and SQL and are comfortable working directly against a data warehouse. This is not a role that hands analysis off.
  • This is a player-coach role: a strong individual contributor who also leads a small team we expect to grow. You'll stay hands-on in the data while managing an analyst and scaling the team as the function matures. Prior experience leading a payments risk or fraud team at a fintech or payments company is strongly preferred.
  • Genuine curiosity and a bias for getting into the weeds.
  • "AI-forward" in practice: you've used LLMs and modern tooling to accelerate investigation, analysis, or controls.
It’s a Bonus if You…
  • Have experience at a fintech operating an ACH product
You’ll Get…

We are targeting a starting salary of $130,000 - $178,000 based on the intended level for this role.

In addition to cash compensation, our total rewards package includes:

  • Full medical benefits including dental and vision plans to ensure you always have the best care.
  • Equity packages in the form of stock options to all employees.
  • Technology (hardware, software, reading materials, etc..) allowance
  • Flexible vacation and sick days

At Dutchie, we’re committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Dutchie believes that diversity and inclusion among our teammates is critical to our success, and we seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool.
