Job Description:

Microchip FPGA BU is looking for a talented, passionate, creative, and hands-on individual to join our new product development team as a Senior Product Engineering Manager.

The candidate will lead the product engineering team to support rollout of new products to the market. This cross functional role will provide opportunities to interact with the many players of product development and rollout including Test Engineering, Package Engineering, Yield Enhancement, Planning, Product Engineering, Software Engineering, Silicon Engineering, Quality, Marketing and Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Product Engineering team and enable team growth through internal development and strategic hiring.
  • Help define manufacturing plans for the next generation FPGA and SOC product line.
  • Develop plans and drive execution of qualification of advanced and industry-leading FPGA and SOC products.
  • Supervise and support test limit validation, Yield enhancement, failure analysis to enable fast rollout.
  • Champion offshore bring-up, address yield issues, and drive corrective actions to meet revenue goals and streamline new product introduction and production ramp.
  • Drive continuous innovation to improve yields, quality, and time to market.
  • Enable customer shipments and support customer’s requests to accelerate technology adoption revenue ramp.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • BSEE, MSEE or equivalent
  • 15+ years of industry related experience in Electrical engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years leading or managing a team.
  • In depth knowledge of solid-state physics, silicon reliability and process failure mechanisms.
  • 5+ years of knowledge of SOC product qualifications – JEDEC
  • Hands-on experience with data management tools and languages like KLA and JMP Understanding of SoC and FPGA architectures and FPGA Software design suites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative leader with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Results-oriented, with a focus on quality execution and strategic goal alignment
  • Proactive in forward planning and long-term strategic thinking
  • Analytical and highly organized, with a data-driven approach to decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in scripting language such as PERL/Python
  • Knowledge of AECQ-100/MIL-STD-883 qualification standards

We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. Benefits of working at Microchip

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in California, is $90,000 - $232,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
