We’re looking for a Senior Manager to join Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and align the Camera, Lens Experience, Lens Client Platform, and Lens New Capabilities teams toward Snap’s North Star metric of user creation and interaction by driving strategy, execution, and collaboration

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data Science, and other engineering teams to identify high-impact opportunities that accelerate user participation and AR innovation

  • Elevate engineering quality and velocity by optimizing team workflows, mentoring leads, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and experimentation

  • Drive architectural and strategic direction across Camera and AR systems, influencing company-wide priorities and enhancing the user experience across Snap’s Camera entrypoint and AR features

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven track record of leading a sizable engineering organization (20+ engineers across multiple sub-teams), ideally within a major social media or consumer tech company

  • Hands-on expertise in camera and AR effects frontend development, with a strong focus on UI/UX innovation, performance optimization, and data-driven iteration

  • Strategic thinking and architectural depth to align cross-functional teams, prioritize high-impact initiatives, and deliver scalable, user-centric solutions

  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and collaboration skills to drive execution and foster a high-performing, innovation-driven engineering culture

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • 10+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 9+ year of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 6+ years of post-grad software development experience within the social-media or consumer platform space

  • 2+ years of engineering management experience, including leading multiple sub-teams and setting technical direction

  • Demonstrated success shipping and operating large-scale, user-facing products with high performance, reliability, and security requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on development experience with iOS or Android camera pipelines, AR effects, or real-time graphics frameworks

  • Proven track record of launching high-impact camera or AR features across diverse device tiers and international markets

  • History of close collaboration with Product and Data Science teams, contributing data-informed insights and creative ideas that shape product roadmaps

  • Experience in driving cross-functional execution in fast-paced environments, from rapid feature iterations to long-term platform investments

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $276,000-$414,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $262,000-$393,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $235,000-$352,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
