The Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager for Content is a critical strategic role. In this role you will engage and collaborate heavily with Marketing to solve complex business problems driving competitive advantage and directly impacting business results. 

In this role you will be responsible for achieving maximum value for money across part of our Content portfolio (advertising, digital, PR, agile, ecomm/decomm, talent, music, influencers, social, and design). You will create and implement robust sourcing strategies which include aspects related to delivering great work that is responsibly sourced and reasonably costed.

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • This is a primary function, using the official Mars framework to create and implement sourcing strategies for the "Content" category. It involves deep, in-depth knowledge of sourcing advertising, digital, PR, e-commerce, influencers, and other marketing services.
  • The manager has ownership of the Content subcategory spend on both a regional (EU, CEAB, APMEA) and global basis. This involves acting as a key member of the Global Category Team to drive harmonization and automation in sourcing.
  • A critical responsibility is to develop and implement regional and global contracts with marketing agencies and suppliers. This includes securing favourable pricing, volume rebates, service levels, and capacity to deliver tangible savings and efficiencies.
  • Success in this role hinges on the ability to partner with and co-pilot key stakeholders, especially senior marketing leaders. It requires heavy cross-functional collaboration to ensure sourcing strategies are aligned with business needs.
  • The manager is expected to be a subject matter expert, providing market and financial insights to the business. This includes having a strong knowledge of internal and external business issues to continuously improve the services Mars procures.
  • The role involves acting as a resource for colleagues and supporting junior team members. This leadership is crucial for building a high-performing Commercial team and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Previous experience in procurement/ commercial functions within a complex organization.
  • Experience in marketing-related categories would be a strong advantage; however, we also welcome candidates with transferable skills, curiosity, and strong learning agility.
  • Comfortable working in regional or global environments and collaborating with diverse teams and external partners.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Commercial mindset with confidence in supplier management and identifying opportunities to drive value and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data and insights into informed business decisions.
  • Proactive and curious approach, with a continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo and bring forward new ideas.
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken.
