Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning – North America

Fremont, CA | Onsite

Role Summary

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning – North America will bring a blend of strategic leadership and tactical execution to help build and operate a world-class, demand-driven supply chain. This role requires a deep understanding of planning systems and concepts, leadership capabilities, and the ability to proactively anticipate and mitigate risk. 

The role will drive process standardization, strengthen planning rigor, and enhance system utilization (Anaplan/MRP), while developing a high-performing planning team. The position plays a key role in aligning supply chain execution with S&OP outputs and business priorities. The role will focus on NextPower’s domestic steel vendors.

You will be part of a fast-paced, diverse, collaborative team driving renewable energy solutions across North America and globally. 

Key Responsibilities

Planning Execution & Process Management

  • Lead execution of supply planning processes, ensuring plans are accurate, timely, and aligned with business requirements.

  • Translate corporate planning guidelines into clear operating procedures and team-level execution standards.

  • Maintain disciplined planning cadences (weekly/monthly) to review forecast, supply coverage, constraints, and risks.

  • Ensure planning master data integrity, including lead times, MOQs, lot sizes, and planning parameters.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on forecast accuracy, supply reliability, and inventory performance.

  • Validate demand and supply alignment and work cross functionally and with vendors to resolve gaps.

  • Develop scenario analyses to support trade-off decisions related to capacity, inventory, service and landed cost.

  • Identify risks early and recommend mitigation plans in coordination with sourcing and operations.

  • Manage supplier allocations based on project schedules, pricing, volume agreements, and inventory levels. 

  • Perform forecast analysis and part-level demand planning to secure supply commitments. 

Monitor supplier capacity loading and ensure shipment adherence to allocation plans. Planning Systems & Tools

  • Ensure effective utilization of planning systems (Anaplan, MRP, reporting tools).

  • Partner with Business Systems to improve data accuracy and system workflows.

  • Support enhancements and system upgrades by providing functional requirements and user feedback.

  • Develop reporting dashboards to improve visibility into forecast performance, supply gaps, and inventory trends.

  • Reduce manual processes through improved system discipline and automation.

Performance Management & KPIs

  • Monitor and report key planning KPIs, including service level, OTIF, , and expedite costs.

  • Conduct root-cause analysis of service failures, excess inventory, and forecast errors.

  • Drive corrective actions within the planning team to improve performance.

  • Partner with Finance to ensure planning outputs support revenue and working capital targets.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop demand and supply planning team members.

  • Establish clear roles, accountability, and performance expectations within the planning organization.

  • Partner closely with Sourcing, Delivery Managers, Warehouse Operations, Logistics, Project Operations, Sales, and Finance to ensure plan alignment.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and operational discipline.

  • Communicate and enforce best practices in supply chain planning and systems utilization. 

  • Champion operational excellence through lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 10–15 years of progressive supply chain experience, including leadership in demand and/or supply planning.

  • Strong working knowledge of forecasting, supply planning, and inventory management principles.

  • Experience with advanced planning tools (Anaplan preferred) and strong analytical skills in Excel, Power BI, or equivalent tools.

  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience in solar, EPC/construction, or capital-project businesses is a plus.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is $175,000 - $190,000 (Specific to Fremont, California)
