Lead the development of a Digital Twin for a satellite constellation, creating simulations to visualize health and predict network performance.
The summary above was generated by AI

Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of the commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high-performance satellite-based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Business customers have contracts with agreed-upon performance standards for their broadband, and Logos will build these capabilities into the system from the beginning. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals.

Logos is led by a team of highly experienced engineers with proven track records in the networking and satellite industries.

Position Summary

As a Senior Mission Simulation Engineer, you will lead the development and maintenance of our constellation’s Digital Twin. You will create high-fidelity, user-friendly simulations that model the complex interactions between orbital dynamics, satellite hardware, and network topology. Your work is the primary tool used by all internal and external stakeholders to visualize constellation health, predict network bottlenecks or efficiencies, and to explore mission-critical "what-if" scenarios.

Responsibilities
  • Digital Twin Development: Architect and scale a comprehensive simulation environment that models multiple constellation shells, accounting for the effect of orbital perturbations, space vehicle power constraints, and link availability.

  • Network Topology Modeling: Architect and implement networking layers to visualize data routing, latency, and coverage/throughput across the dynamic constellation mesh.

  • Stakeholder Tooling: Design and deploy "user-friendly" dashboards and visualization tools (e.g., web-based 3D viewers) that allow non-experts to interact with the constellation model.

  • Cross-Functional Integration: Serve as a bridge between mission design, space vehicle engineering, and the product management teams at Logos

  • Predictive Analysis: Develop "shadow ops" capabilities to simulate constellation behavior in advance of planned events or to reconstruct past scenarios.

Qualifications
  • Education: BS, MS, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with exposure to Astrodynamics.

  • Experience: 5+ years in modeling and simulation, ideally within the aerospace or telecommunications sectors.

  • Software: Expert-level proficiency in Python, C++, Rust, or Julia, with experience building large-scale distributed Digit Twin simulations.

  • Visualization: Experience with 3D visualization engines such as CesiumJS, Unreal Engine, etc

  • Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of orbital mechanics (J2 perturbations, coordinate frames) and network protocols.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Constellation-level satellite networking simulation frameworks

  • Experience with System Tool Kit (STK), FreeFlyer, or similar Space mission simulation frameworks.

  • Background in data visualization for complex geospatial datasets.

  • Experience with LEO satellite communication constellations

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
