About Us:

Homebound is on a mission to make it possible for anyone, anywhere, to build a home using technology. Created by an experienced team of construction, real estate, design, and technology experts, Homebound is transforming the residential construction industry by improving the costly and inefficient process of building a home.

We’ve created an entirely new way to build homes with technology powering every stage from start to finish to provide a seamless experience for our customers. Homeowners across the country can choose where they want to live, select a home plan that’s perfect for them, then personalize and buy it, all online. Homebound has raised $150M in capital from leading venture capitalists like Google, Khosla, Thrive Ventures, and we’re scaling quickly in places like Texas, Colorado and Florida. Come build your future with us.

About The Role:

As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will own and evolve Homebound’s iOS applications - the primary interface our construction teams use to run projects in the field. These apps power critical workflows such as AI-powered job logs, work verification, scheduling trade partners, and capturing real-time site data.

You will be a technical owner for mobile architecture and delivery, partnering closely with Product, Construction Operations, and Platform Engineering to turn complex, real-world construction workflows into reliable, intuitive mobile experiences. This role requires strong judgment around UX, data consistency, offline-first behavior, and long-term maintainability.

You’ll work on a small, high-impact team, taking features from concept to production while helping set the technical bar for quality, performance, and developer experience. This is a foundational role on a growing team that is core to Homebound’s mission to modernize homebuilding through technology.

What You'll Do:
  • Own and grow Homebound’s iOS applications used daily by construction field teams.

  • Lead technical design and implementation of complex mobile features, including offline-first workflows and data synchronization.

  • Translate messy, real-world field processes into intuitive, consumer-grade mobile experiences.

  • Partner closely with Product, Design, Construction Ops, and Platform Engineering to define requirements and technical tradeoffs.

  • Influence mobile architecture, data models, and API contracts to support long-term scalability.

  • Ship high-quality production code frequently, with a strong focus on reliability, maintainability, and user impact.

  • Mentor other engineers and help raise the bar for mobile engineering practices and developer experience.

What You'll Bring:
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 5+ years building and shipping mobile applications.

  • Strong experience with native iOS development (Swift / SwiftUI).

  • Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end, making sound technical and product tradeoffs.

  • Deep understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices and performance considerations.

  • Experience building offline-first applications and managing local data, syncing, and conflict resolution.

  • Experience shipping AI-powered or intelligent product features (e.g., LLM-driven workflows, automation, ML-backed features).

  • Strong sense of ownership and comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment.

  • Experience working with GraphQL backends is a plus.

  • Passion for improving the developer experience and the quality of mobile delivery.

Our Tech Stack:
  • SwiftUI iOS app

  • SwiftData

  • GraphQL

  • Github/CircleCI

  • Tuist

If you are a self-starter, have a strong sense of ownership, and are passionate about building world-class tech teams and products, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Our Commitment:

We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you’re excited about this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. To apply, please submit an application with your resume on the Career’s page.
