Trucking powers the American economy, moving 71% of the nation’s freight and representing nearly $900 billion in annual spend. Yet despite its scale, the industry still runs on fragmented systems, phone calls, emails, tribal knowledge, and manual coordination. TruckSmarter is changing that, starting with the people at the center of it all: truck drivers and small carriers.
We’re a team of fewer than 25 building Dispatch, an AI-powered operating layer for freight. Think Claude Code for trucking. Dispatch helps carriers navigate a constantly changing freight market, reason through complex tradeoffs, and execute operational workflows on their behalf.
The product is live, drivers are using it, and we’re now focused on making Dispatch dramatically smarter and more capable.
We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to own the mobile experience inside Dispatch. This is a high-ownership role on a team of fewer than 15 engineers where you'll shape architecture, drive technical decisions, and ship features that real truck drivers depend on every day.
You won't be handed a backlog and told to execute. You'll work closely with product and design from concept through launch, influence how the mobile team builds, and help set the technical bar for what we ship.
What You'll DoDesign and implement secure, scalable, high-performance mobile applications using React Native
Make architectural decisions that will shape how we build the mobile product for years to come
Own frontend deployment pipelines that balance velocity and reliability
Review code and provide high-leverage feedback to peers
Work directly with product managers and designers to align on requirements and deliver polished user experiences
Provide guidance on mobile best practices, coding standards, and emerging technologies
5+ years building and shipping mobile applications used by a significant number of real users
Strong iOS or Android engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping quality mobile products
React Native experience is a plus but not required — strong iOS or Android engineers are encouraged to apply and we'll support you in getting up to speed
Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns and modern best practices
Experience making principled technical tradeoffs in fast-moving startup environments
Ability to work cross-functionally and drive requirements across product, design, and engineering
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
