Lead delivery of a multi-phase Network 2.0 transformation: validate designs, stage and migrate data center networks, integrate Arista fabrics and Palo Alto firewalls, execute cutovers with minimal disruption, perform post-cutover validation, and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
MetroSys is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to lead the implementation and delivery of a multi-phase network transformation initiative. This role is responsible for executing against a defined Statement of Work, including design validation, staging, migration, integration, and cutover activities for a next-generation network architecture.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in data center networking, routing, security, and large-scale migrations, with the ability to drive execution while maintaining alignment with architectural standards.
Key Responsibilities- Execute delivery of a multi-phase Network 2.0 transformation, including design validation, staging, migration, integration, and service cutover
- Implement and support Arista-based data center fabric architectures, including EVPN/VXLAN, MLAG, and BGP-based designs
- Configure and integrate Palo Alto firewalls, including NAT migration, policy design, and Panorama management
- Support datacenter consolidation and interconnect design, including redundant circuits and VPN failover strategies
- Deploy and validate core, edge, and management network components aligned to defined architecture standards
- Implement:
- eBGP/iBGP routing at the edge
- OSPF underlay with MP-BGP EVPN overlay
- VRF segmentation across multiple security zones
- Lead staging and proof-of-concept validation, including failover testing, interoperability, and performance validation
- Migrate legacy configurations (e.g., Juniper) into new Arista and Palo Alto environments
- Execute phased integration and cutover activities with minimal service disruption
- Develop and execute service migration plans, including rollback strategies and validation procedures
- Perform post-cutover validation, ensuring routing convergence, security enforcement, and service availability
- Collaborate with client and ISP teams to coordinate change windows and integration activities
- Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation, runbooks, and validation reports
- 5–8+ years of experience in enterprise networking and infrastructure implementation
- Strong hands-on expertise with:
- Arista EOS (EVPN/VXLAN, MLAG, BGP)
- Palo Alto firewalls (policy, NAT, Panorama)
- Deep understanding of:
- Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
- Data center networking and segmentation (VRFs, VLANs)
- High availability design (ECMP, BFD, clustering)
- Experience with network migrations, cutovers, and large-scale infrastructure transitions
- Ability to translate architecture into real-world configurations and execution plans
- Strong troubleshooting and validation skills across routing, security, and connectivity layers
- Experience working in client-facing or professional services environments
