The Defense Sector of Leidos has an opening for a Senior Network Engineer to support a network program in San Miguel, CA.
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting core network infrastructure devices, including troubleshooting and quick fixes, on-site support, and providing requirements to drive improvement.
This position may offer some relocation assistance, if needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deploy network system upgrades at CONUS and OCONUS field sites.
- Become site focal for the program and coordinate installations.
- Provide onsite support for troubleshooting and problem resolutions.
- Perform network maintenance and upgrades.
- Provide documentation and reporting.
- Assist with Disaster Recovery and Business continuity planning.
- Provide compliance and standards alignment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of experience or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in network infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience of Juniper SSR architecture and configuration.
- Expertise in SD-WAN technologies and implementation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Cisco IOS/IOS-XE operating systems.
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
- Experience with network virtualization and software-defined networking.
- Familiarity with network automation tools.
- Proven track record in SD-Wan solutions.
- Familiarity with WAN optimizing.
- Understanding and implementing QoS.
- Proficient knowledge of network engineering, network architecture, and network automation.
- Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Familiarity with VoIP and unified communications technologies.
- Understanding of containerization and microservices architectures.
