Owl Labs is seeking a Boston-based Senior Operations Program Manager to join our team. As a member of the Operations team, this person will lead, coordinate, and execute the short and long-term strategies to maximize manufacturing outcomes, and proactively plan for changing conditions in support of New Product Introduction and overall Product Lifecycle Management. The successful candidate must be motivated, organized, self-directed, and capable of handling a variety of tasks in highly matrixed environments. This is a unique opportunity to play a significant role in Manufacturing Operations for a fast-growing innovative startup.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Senior Operations Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing readiness during all phases of New Product Introduction (NPI) and overall product readiness to meet launch. In addition, this position will manage the overall product lifecycle of respective products. This role works closely with both internal cross-functional teams as well as external cross functional teams at our Manufacturing partners to develop the strategic direction, goals, objectives and key measurement systems to ensure the business goals are met.

  • Facilitate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) at all levels of manufacturing including but not limited to PCBA, system assembly, test and packout.
  • Ensure production readiness at our manufacturing partners for all phases of the development cycle.
  • Ensure suppliers On Time Delivery (OTD) and quality performance throughout the development cycle
  • Ownership of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensures cost targets are met
  • Management of the product’s life cycle using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
  • Identifies and drives overall cost savings objectives related to new product development and ongoing sustaining initiatives.
  • Responsible in the delivery, budget and capacity planning related to manufacturing capital
  • Facilitate quoting and price negotiations with key suppliers
  • Advancing high level strategic decision-making through detailed analysis and preparation
  • Helps drive continuous improvement with cross functional teams using Lean methodology.
  • Managing product risks such as supplier quality, component end of life and component availability.
  • Collaborates frequently with Owl’s Manufacturing team and Manufacturing partners located around the world.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations or a related field is required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in producing high volume electromechanical systems
  • Experience with product development, sustaining engineering and high volume production overseas
  • Demonstrated project management and supply chain management skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities
  • Strong social and verbal/written/presentational skills
  • Convert business needs/requirements into executable strategies
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Understanding of inventory management and cash flow requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating priorities, and initiatives
  • Motivated and results oriented creative thinker
  • Able to travel 20-30% internationally - US Passports required

Salary Range
$100,000$125,000 USD
