Location:  This position may be performed remotely, but requires the flexibility and willingness to travel as needed.

The Opportunity

Praxis is evolving from a clinical-stage company into a commercial organization, one that is built to deliver for patients at scale.  You will help make that transition real through partnership with Praxis’s Commercial organization as we build a high-performing, patient-centered team capable of delivering impact at speed.

In this role, you will operate as both a strategic advisor and a hands-on builder, shaping organizational design, coaching leaders, and driving talent decisions while also rolling up your sleeves to execute. You will be embedded in the business and own outcomes.

You’ll work closely with Commercial leadership to ensure we have the right structure, talent, and operating discipline to scale effectively, particularly in environments such as launch readiness and field force effectiveness.  This means leaning into hard conversations, making clear calls, and ensuring follow-through. Success in this role is measured by the strength of the team you help build and the results that team delivers for patients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner deeply with Commercial leadership to shape org design, team structure, and talent strategy aligned to business goals.
  • Coach and challenge leaders with direct, actionable feedback on performance, decision making, team effectiveness, and accountability.
  • Own and drive key talent decisions (hiring, promotions, exits, succession), ensuring high standards and consistency.
  • Operate hands-on across the employee lifecycle—from recruiting support and onboarding to performance management and development.
  • Lead performance and feedback processes with rigor and candor, ensuring differentiation and accountability.
  • Diagnose and address organizational friction (team dynamics, role clarity, decision-making gaps) and implement practical solutions.
  • Remain engaged with the Field, regularly engaging with frontline teams to understand where leadership or structure needs to evolve.
  • Build and scale operating rhythms (OKRs, talent reviews, engagement touchpoints) that improve execution and alignment.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Recruiting, Total Rewards, and People Operations to deliver cohesive and high-quality employee experiences.

Qualifications and Key Success Factors

  • 12+ years of People (HR) Business Partnering or talent leadership experience supporting commercial or go-to-market teams in biotech/pharma, with direct exposure to pre-launch and launch stage commercial builds.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders while also executing independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen: you understand how commercial organizations create (ex: field force performance, launch execution, market dynamics) value and what talent levers matter most.
  • Experience supporting teams through scale, launch, or significant transformation with organizational design, performance management, employee relations and leadership coaching in dynamic environments.
  • High judgment and ability to navigate sensitive situations with discretion and clarity
  • Ability to translate business strategy into org and talent decision.
  • The physical and mental requirements of our roles include but are not limited to regular use of a computer, devices or other office equipment, clear communication, and occasional movement.  You'll need comfort with screen work, basic hand coordination, and focus.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

What will make you successful at Praxis:

  • You are hands-on by default:  you don’t delegate work you can do faster or better yourself.
  • You give direct, candid feedback and are comfortable engaging in difficult conversations
  • You prioritize impact over process and avoid unnecessary complexity.
  • You build trust quickly by being reliable, responsive, and grounded in reality.
  • You hold a high bar for talent and are willing to make tough calls to drive team performance.
  • You are energized by building in ambiguity and scaling from scratch.
