Position Overview:
The Senior Planner owns production and materials planning strategy and execution, driving predictable, stable production plans with minimal disruption. This role ensures strong alignment between demand, capacity, and inventory to support high on-time delivery and improved inventory performance. Acting as a central integrator across Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Engineering, the Senior Planner creates clear cross-functional alignment and leads planning processes that scale effectively with company growth, supporting both near-term execution and long-term business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Own the master production schedule (MPS) and material planning strategy 
  • Translate demand forecasts, customer orders, and business priorities into executable plans 
  • Identify capacity constraints, material risks, and delivery threats; lead mitigation planning 
  • Partner with Senior Buyers to align material availability with production plans 
  • Lead planning inputs to S&OP or demand review processes 
  • Drive improvements in planning accuracy, schedule stability, and inventory turns 
  • Maintain and govern planning master data (BOMs, routings, lead times, planning parameters) 
  • Support NPI planning, ramp-ups, and engineering change implementation 
  • Establish and track planning KPIs (OTD, schedule adherence, inventory health) 
  • Mentor junior planners or cross-train operations staff as needed 

Qualifications

  • Required:
  • 6–10+ years of production or materials planning experience in manufacturing 
  • Deep understanding of MRP, MPS, capacity planning, and inventory management 
  • Proven ability to make trade-off decisions balancing cost, delivery, and capacity 
  • Advanced ERP/MRP and Excel skills (what-if analysis, planning scenarios) 
  • Strong executive-level communication and influence skills 
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and scaling environments 

  • Preferred 
  • APICS CPIM (or equivalent) 
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume, complex manufacturing 
  • Exposure to demand planning, S&OP, or IBP processes

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $92,000 and $114,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
