Some of the world’s most advanced and innovative global enterprise software and tech companies have trouble finding engineering partners that have the ability to perform highly complex deliveries and services that match their rigorous standards. These teams need a partner that can co-own problems from within their own development environment. Enter EverOps – the premier Embedded Service Provider. We partner directly with our customer engineering and operations teams to help them assess and address a variety of delivery and service related issues in the DevOps space.
The ChallengeEverOps is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer who has personally built internal developer platforms and not just operated them. You should have stood up the golden-path tooling that other engineers depend on every day: self-service developer portals, GitOps delivery, automated workflow orchestration, and the Kubernetes foundations underneath it all. You’ll bring a deep understanding of enterprise cloud infrastructure and the ability to manage projects autonomously, with little direction, while focusing on client satisfaction and high availability.
The distinction matters to us. We’re not looking for someone who has clicked through Backstage or watched Argo run someone else’s pipelines. We’re looking for the engineer who designed the catalog model, wrote the software templates, built the workflow library, and owned the GitOps reconciliation loop from an empty repo to production.
The MissionAs a Senior Platform Engineer at EverOps you will join our U.S.-Based Virtual Operating Center (your home office), working with a team of dynamic engineers to design and build the platforms that customer engineering teams build on top of. The work we do is uniquely dynamic and each day brings new challenges. Imagine a world where you won’t be siloed into one aspect or facet of platform engineering. Our existing team of engineers has a deep understanding of our customer environments and is eager to empower, ramp up, and mentor each new hire so that success is achieved.
What You’ll DoDesign and build a self-service developer platform from the ground up — software catalog, golden-path templates, and developer portal experience using Backstage
Stand up and own GitOps-based continuous delivery with Argo CD or Flux CD, including app-of-apps patterns, sync policies, and progressive rollout
Build and maintain automated workflow orchestration using Argo Workflows — CI pipelines, scheduled jobs, and event-driven automation
Architect, operate, and scale production Kubernetes environments that the rest of the platform runs on
Design and run saturation and load testing with k6 — building reusable test templates and wiring them into the delivery pipeline
Implement policy enforcement and admission control with Kyverno, including signed/verified container image policies
Develop and use automation tools effectively to operate, manage, and scale production and development environments quickly
Design and execute new platform capabilities while continuously improving existing ones
Participate in regular customer and internal EverOps scrums
Provide operational support and project deployments for our customer environments
Core stack — you’ve built it, not just used it:
Hands-on experience building and customizing Backstage in production — software catalog modeling, custom plugins, software templates, and TechDocs (not just consuming an existing instance)
Hands-on experience implementing Argo Workflows to orchestrate CI, batch, and event-driven automation at scale
Hands-on experience implementing GitOps delivery with Argo CD — designing the repo structure, sync strategy, and rollout model
Deep, hands-on Kubernetes experience: you’ve designed, deployed, and operated production clusters and the platform services running on them
Hands-on experience building saturation and load tests with k6 — authoring test suites and integrating them into CI, not just running a one-off script
Hands-on experience enforcing policy with Kyverno (or equivalent admission control) — including signed/verified container image enforcement

Hands-on experience and deep understanding of Linux
Strong hands-on professional experience with one or more of: Golang, Python, TypeScript, Bash, Ruby, or Rust
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure designing, building, and running highly-available cloud-native environments
Understanding of current best practices for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform + Atlantis and/or CloudFormation)
Experience packaging and templating Kubernetes workloads with Helm and/or Kustomize
Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s)
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, DataDog, Splunk, or ELK
Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Packer, etc
Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source Backstage plugins or Argo projects

Strong desire to learn new technologies
Experience in SaaS companies and startup environments
