Founded in 2014 at Stanford University, Halo secured significant funding in 2024 and is poised for rapid growth, engaging strategic customers and preparing for volume manufacturing.

We are seeking a results-driven, hands-on, agile, Continuous Improvement Process Engineer to reduce operating costs across all aspects of manufacturing. In this role you will be responsible for identifying and driving cost reduction projects across the engineering team focused on volume manufacturing. Projects will eventually scale globally across our Silicon Carbide (SiC) wafer fabrication facilities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high volume manufacturing, SiC ingot and wafer manufacturing or related high tech fields. This role requires a strong background in process engineering, complex project management, and a passion for continuous improvement and innovation. You will be interfacing across the company from the executive level down to the operations team on the floor with high visibility projects. 

PMP certification and the use of project management tools, stakeholder engagement, and concise documentation, and strong communication across engineering, quality, and customer contacts is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Work across the engineering organization to identify, qualify, and implement cost savings  for throughput, OEE, waste reduction, consumables cost reduction, value engineering, inventory reduction.
  • Build data driven models to identify bottlenecks, analyze and optimize cycle times, reduce waste, and identify other inefficiencies.
  • Identify root causes of yield detractors and implement corrective actions using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC).
  • Evaluate and qualify new materials and other consumables for SiC wafer manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Serve as the technical interface for external vendors, internal stakeholders, and customers for roadmap and qualification alignment.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in high mix high volume manufacturing, preferably 3+ years in SiC or semiconductor related fields.
  • Deep understanding of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, OEE, Yield Improvement, and Financial metrics for project benchmarking and prioritization.
  • Hands-on experience with SPC, DOE, FMEA, and other quality tools.
  • Project management experience with proficiency to lead cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience transitioning processes from R&D to high-volume manufacturing in the US and overseas.
  • Familiarity with MES, ERP, APC, FDC, and data analytics tools for process monitoring.
  • PMP certification with experience across a variety of project management tools, stakeholder management, and strong communication across engineering, quality, and customer contacts.
  • Proven leadership experience managing a wide variety of engineering projects in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent executive level communication backed by strong data analysis tools.
