🎬 About OpenArt

OpenArt is a leading AI creative platform for visual storytelling, used by millions worldwide. We're building an AI creative partner, powered by the best models in the world, so anyone can make videos, images, characters, and whole stories with the speed and imagination that used to take a studio.

We believe the future of creativity is AI-native: not a vending machine for clips, but a partner that understands what you're going for, works alongside you, and helps you finish the whole thing, from a single post to a campaign to a film. Our mission is to empower creators to bring their ideas to life. That's the future we're shaping, and we'd love for you to help design it.

✨ What You'll Do
  • Design what it feels like to make something here, from the first thing a creator says to work they're proud of.

  • Let people direct, not wait: a creator says what they want, sees it take shape, nudges it, and keeps going without losing the thread.

  • Make our agent, the user's creative partner, worth working with: they ask the right question when you're stuck, show what's happening while you wait, and own it when they get something wrong. Their words and behavior are yours to design.

  • Keep everything where a creator expects to find it, so a quick experiment can grow into a real project without re-filing anything.

  • Never make someone carry the whole system. As we add capabilities, making things here should feel simpler, not busier.

  • Invent how designers work with AI: prototype with it, direct it, design its behavior. There's no playbook yet. You'll write part of it.

🍿 Our Culture

At OpenArt, we value:

  • Ownership & Impact – Design is where the product gets decided, not where ideas go to get polished. You'll shape strategy, not just pixels.

  • Curiosity & Growth – We ask "what if?" a lot, build to find out, and share work early.

  • Collaboration & Openness – Ideas come from anywhere, and so does honest feedback. We co-create with engineers, founders, and the AI itself.

  • Human-Centered Design – AI feels cold by default. We put warmth in the small places: empty states, microcopy, the moment something fails.

🔎 What We're Looking ForHard Skills
  • Systems and objects – you've changed how a product is structured, not just how it looks.

  • Designing for AI, or other systems where the behavior is the interface.

  • AI in your daily practice – prototyping in code, Claude, Figma Make or similar, with real opinions on where it helps.

  • Strong UI craft – polished, considered, in service of clarity.

  • You write well – words in the product are design.

Soft Skills
  • Product mindset – you care how the whole thing holds together, not just your screens.

  • Structure from ambiguity – you're the one who makes the fuzzy thing clear.

  • Open and collaborative – you thrive on feedback and co-creation.

  • Growth mindset – the tools change monthly, and you enjoy that.

  • Strong communicator – you can explain why a structure is right, not just that it looks right.

🤩 Example Ideal Candidate
  • Has shaped a product's structure, not just its surface, and can say what they'd do differently now.

  • Has designed something where AI behaves, and learned where to trust it.

  • Equally at home mapping an object model and obsessing over a transition.

  • Excited about creators, storytelling, and being early to how design and AI work together.

🌍 Location & Work Setup
  • Bay Area (full-time, on-site or hybrid)

  • High collaboration with founders and global engineering team.

  • Visa sponsorship available.

💖 Why OpenArt?

Creative tools are moving from generating clips to delivering finished work, and an agent that does the whole job with you is where things are heading. The choices made in the next few quarters will shape this product for years, and here they're design decisions. If you want to shape not just a product but how designers and AI work together, this is a good place to do it.
