About PIP Labs & Story

PIP Labs is an R&D company contributing to the development of Story, a purpose-built Layer 1 blockchain that transforms intellectual property into a programmable asset class.

Story is designed specifically for intellectual property. With Story, creators and developers can register IP on-chain and define usage rights in seconds, dramatically lowering the barriers created by today’s complex and antiquated IP legal systems.

By making IP programmable, Story creates a transparent, decentralized global repository where AI agents, developers, and businesses can discover, license, and monetize intellectual property through simple API-driven interactions.

Story launched mainnet in February 2025, and the native $IP token is now listed on major global exchanges. We are now entering the next phase of development focused on AI-native infrastructure and agent-driven applications built on top of programmable IP.

PIP Labs is building the core infrastructure that powers this ecosystem, defining how intellectual property is registered, structured, and transacted in an AI-driven world.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer to join us on a short-term contract during a critical build phase.

You’ll work closely with design leadership, product, and engineering to define and ship core product experiences across two key initiatives:

  • A core product that enables users to contribute, manage, and access data powering AI systems on Story
  • A user-facing application enabling creators, developers, and businesses to interact and transact around intellectual property

This is a high-ownership, high-ambiguity role. You’ll be expected to operate with speed, bring strong product thinking, and translate early concepts into polished, production-ready designs ahead of key internal milestones.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end product design across 0→1 and early-stage product surfaces

  • Translate ambiguous product ideas into clear UX, flows, and interfaces

  • Partner closely with product and engineering to ship quickly and iterate in real time

  • Contribute to both product experience and visual/brand direction

  • Deliver high-quality, production-ready designs across web-based applications

  • Help shape design systems and interaction patterns where needed

  • Operate with a strong bias toward execution and velocity

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in product design

  • Experience designing complex or technical products (e.g. infrastructure, data, developer tools, or similar)

  • Ability to operate effectively in early-stage or undefined environments

  • Strong craft across interaction, UX, and visual design

  • Experience working closely with engineering teams to ship live products

  • Comfortable balancing product thinking with brand and storytelling

  • Strong communication skills and ability to align with senior stakeholders

  • Experience in Web3, AI, or developer platforms is a plus

Engagement Details

  • ~30 hours per week

  • Open to remote applicants

  • Some overlap with PST timezone based team preferred

  • 3-month contract aligned to key product milestones

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to help define the design foundation of a new category at the intersection of AI, IP, and blockchain infrastructure, working directly on products that will shape how data and intellectual property are used in the next generation of AI systems.
