Role Overview

As a Senior Product Designer at Carvana, you’ll lead end-to-end design for complex, high-impact initiatives across our product ecosystem. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on driving measurable customer and business outcomes through strong product thinking and exceptional craft.

You balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution — translating ambiguity into clear opportunities, shaping scalable solutions, and influencing cross-functional direction. You operate with ownership and accountability, set a high bar for quality, and elevate the work through systems thinking, clarity, and collaboration.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead end-to-end design for large, complex initiatives that drive measurable outcomes
  • Translate ambiguous problem spaces into clear, actionable solutions
  • Align design decisions to product strategy, business goals, and user needs
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape requirements and evaluate trade-offs
  • Deliver high-quality designs grounded in systems thinking, interaction design best practices and user-centered methodologies
  • Create prototypes and artifacts that clarify intent and build stakeholder alignment
  • Contribute to and evolve design systems for consistency and scalability
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders through strong storytelling and evidence-based rationale
  • Navigate complexity with urgency, adaptability, and strong ownership

What you should have

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Design or UX
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong product thinking and systems-level design expertise
  • Expert proficiency in Figma and modern design tools
  • Ability to confidently communicate, influence, and defend design decisions with data and insight
