About the Company

At Flow, we’re reimagining what it means to live, work, and connect. More than just a real estate company, Flow is a brand, a technology platform, and an operations ecosystem spanning condominiums, hotels, multifamily residences, and office spaces. We’re building a new kind of living experience: one that’s flexible, connected, and designed to create genuine community and real value for the people who call Flow home.

Our mission is oneness:  prioritizing our residents and their experiences, and fostering connection with ourselves, their neighbors, and the natural world. By putting people at the center of everything we do, we’re creating vibrant, human-centered communities where life, work, creativity, and play all come together in one place.

About the Role
Senior Product Designers play a central role in shaping how we build products that fundamentally change how people live. You’ll work across the full product lifecycle, from early concept exploration and user research through interaction design, visual design, and final polish before launch. This role calls for strong end-to-end ownership, a high bar for craft, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to both detailed execution and higher-level product and business decisions alongside product, engineering, and executive partners.

Flow’s mission is to design communities that connect people to themselves, their neighbors, and nature. Delivering on that vision requires bringing together real estate, property management, and financial services into a cohesive, intuitive experience, while maintaining relentlessly high standards for quality and usability. We’re looking for designers who are user-first, detail-oriented, and motivated by the opportunity to reinvent how people experience their homes and community.

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll own product features from concept through delivery, including research, UI and visual design, engineering handoff, QA, and iteration. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and moving quickly without compromising quality. You’ll also collaborate closely with the design team to establish strong design processes, help build and evolve Flow’s design system, and contribute to a thoughtful, high-impact design culture.

Also, we believe employees are better together. Every position at Flow has an onsite or in-office requirement.

*A portfolio is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Translate broad, conceptual ideas into clear, valuable, and intuitive product experiences for Flow’s users
  • Design end-to-end user flows, interactions, and visual systems that simplify complex actions and scale across products
  • Own the user experience from conception through launch in close partnership with product management and engineering
  • Develop a deep understanding of Flow’s users (residents, onsite staff, and internal teams) through research and continuous learning
  • Conduct and advocate for user research to inform decisions and align teams around user needs
  • Contribute to strategic product and design decisions that shape the future direction of Flow
  • Collaborate across teams, give and receive high-quality design feedback, and clearly present work to partners and leadership
  • Help define and evolve Flow’s design system, brand, and product story as the company grows

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience designing complex digital products with a strong focus on user experience, interaction, and visual design
  • Proven ability to take products or features from 0–1, owning design from concept through launch
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality, end-to-end design work across web and/or mobile products
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, synthesizing feedback to inform product and design strategy
  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools, including creating high-fidelity, interactive prototypes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, startup environment with a hands-on, detail-oriented, and iterative mindset
  • Experience in FinTech and/or PropTech, utilizing generative AI in design workflows, or familiarity with marketing technology platforms, are a plus

Benefits
• Comprehensive benefits package (Medical / Dental / Vision / Disability / Life)
• Paid time off and 13 paid holidays
• 401(k) retirement plan
• Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
• Access to HSA-compatible plans
• Pre-tax commuter benefits
• Employee Assistance Program (EAP), free therapy through SpringHealth, acupuncture, and other wellness offerings

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
