About Parspec

Parspec is building the AI and digital infrastructure for the construction materials supply chain.

Construction is a $15 trillion industry, yet the systems that underpin the buying and selling of materials remain fragmented, manual, and disconnected. Distributors and rep agencies rely on spreadsheets, PDFs, phone calls, and siloed tools to find new products and quote and manage projects; creating delays, errors, and margin erosion across the supply chain.

Parspec is an AI-native platform that powers how construction products are discovered, bought, and sold. Trusted by more than 300 MEP distributors and rep agencies, Parspec helps project-driven businesses bid faster, win more work, and operate more profitably. By combining product intelligence, AI-powered workflows, and a connected ecosystem, Parspec is laying the foundation for a more intelligent, efficient construction supply chain.

Founded in 2021 and headquartered in San Mateo, California, Parspec has raised $31 million from leading deep-tech and construction-technology investors.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Product Designer to shape user-centered design for our B2B enterprise software platform.

This role will be instrumental in designing intuitive interfaces for complex B2B workflows and diverse enterprise user personas. The ideal candidate will help humanize AI-driven capabilities to improve the user experience while simplifying complex processes. Our users spend much of their day working on our product to operate their businesses, and we're committed to continuously reducing friction in their workflows.

We are an AI-first product and engineering team. Our engineering organization actively deploys agentic workflows across development, CI/CD, and testing, and we expect design to operate at the same velocity. This means our Senior Product Designer must be fluent in AI-assisted design workflows, including bidirectional handoffs between design tools and AI systems (e.g., Figma → Claude, Claude → Figma), and comfortable designing for and alongside AI-driven development pipelines.

Our design team works closely with Product and Engineering, focusing on shipping quickly, learning from users, and continuously improving workflows.

This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidates must be located in California or willing to relocate.

What You Will Achieve and Key Responsibilities

End-To-End Feature Design Ownership
  • Own the design of product features from early discovery and concept development through detailed design and delivery with engineering.

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering, leveraging AI tools to compress iteration cycles and accelerate from concept to production-ready spec.

  • Translate complex workflows into intuitive interfaces and clear user flows.

Design Excellence
  • Actively use AI-assisted design tools to prototype faster, stress-test edge cases, and explore interaction patterns at a pace aligned with our engineering cadence.

  • Produce high-quality interaction and visual design with strong attention to hierarchy, clarity, and usability.

  • Communicate design decisions clearly through prototypes, documentation, and rationale.

  • Maintain a high bar for usability, accessibility, and visual polish across the product.

Unified Design System
  • Contribute to and evolve our design system by developing reusable patterns and components in Figma that scale across our product surfaces (e.g., distributor portals, manufacturer tools) and responsive interfaces (desktop, tablet, and mobile).

  • Ensure design system components are built for AI-assisted handoff, structured, token-ready, and compatible with code-generation workflows used by engineering.

User-Centered Product Design & Strategy
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design and launch features, such as enhanced search interfaces and intuitive data visualization tools, that drive higher user engagement. Advocate for accessibility, modern user interface / user experience (UI/UX) best practices, and emerging design trends in enterprise software.

  • Lead user research and usability testing initiatives to create detailed personas, map comprehensive user journeys and flows, and reduce cognitive load for improved efficiency, ensuring a balance of power and simplicity.

  • Collaborate with sales and customer success to deliver timely, high-impact user-centric designs and prototypes that meet the needs of different user personas.

  • Partner with Product and Customer Success to evaluate product usage and inform design improvements.

Why This Matters

Design plays a critical role in how users experience the power of Parspec’s platform. Our customers rely on Parspec daily to run essential parts of their businesses, often working with complex data and workflows. As a Senior Product Designer, you will help transform that complexity into intuitive, efficient, and delightful product experiences. By shaping how users interact with AI-driven capabilities and data-rich interfaces, you will directly influence how quickly customers adopt our product, how effectively they work, and ultimately how the construction supply chain becomes more connected and intelligent.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in product design or UI/UX design, with a focus on enterprise SaaS products and complex workflows.

  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted design tools in your workflow. This is not a future aspiration; we expect active, practical fluency (e.g., Figma AI, generative prototyping tools, LLM-assisted workflows)

  • Mastery of Figma (i.e. design systems, auto-layout)

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong product design for complex web applications, data-dense interfaces, and enterprise workflows.

  • Proficiency in user-centered design methodologies, designing with systems, accessibility standards, and usability testing.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with bidirectional design-to-code workflows (e.g., Figma ↔ Claude, design token pipelines, or AI-assisted front-end generation

  • Expertise in designing for B2B applications, particularly in procurement, construction tech, or marketplace platforms.

  • Strong understanding of mobile-first design, web-applications, responsive frameworks, and AI-driven design innovations.

  • Familiarity with front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS) and modern design systems (e.g. React-based frameworks).

  • Experience with designing for diverse user groups, including digital-native younger users and experienced SMEs with varying tech proficiency.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and bonus, plus equity options

  • Unlimited PTO policy

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Flexible hybrid work environment

  • Regular team offsites and a budget for professional development

  • Preferred Location: Hybrid, with regular in-office presence (San Mateo, CA)
