Mix helps curious people discover, save, and share the best of the web through personalized, ad-free feeds across web and mobile. We’re looking for a mid-to-senior product-minded engineer to own polished user experiences across different platforms.

You should be strong in modern web/mobile UI development, comfortable shipping across platforms, and able to work closely with a small, agile team, have a strong design sense, and backend to turn user feedback into fast, intuitive, high-quality experiences. Strong product instincts, attention to UX detail, and a bias toward shipping are essential.

Required Qualifications:

  • Solid UI / UX design skills.

  • Experience with the latest AI development tools such as Codex, Claude, Cursor, Antigravity, etc

  • Product-minded front-end engineer who can ship polished user-facing features across web, iOS, and Android.

  • Strong TypeScript, React, Next.js, Redux Toolkit/RTK Query or SWR, and Tailwind CSS experience.

  • Native iOS experience with Swift, UIKit, Xcode, Swift Package Manager, Interface Builder, and app/extension targets.

  • Native Android experience with Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, AndroidX, Fragments/ViewModels, XML/data binding, and Material components.

  • Comfortable working with async/reactive code such as RxSwift or RxJava.

  • Experience integrating APIs, auth, deep links, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, and media-heavy UI.

  • Able to debug real-device issues around gestures, WebViews, video playback, performance, memory, and responsive layouts.

  • Collaborates closely with product/design and can turn rough requirements into shippable, measured product improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer social, content discovery, feeds, recommendations, sharing, or creator/community products.

  • Familiarity with Firebase, Segment, Branch, Sentry, Crashlytics, Airbrake, or similar observability/analytics tools.

  • Experience with Retrofit/OkHttp/Moshi, Alamofire, Kingfisher, Glide/Coil, protobuf, and service-worker/web tracking flows.

  • Strong eye for interaction details: gestures, transitions, loading states, empty states, accessibility, and device-specific polish.

  • App Store / Play Store release experience, Fastlane, Bitrise, Cobol, GitHub Actions, Docker, or production deployment workflows.

  • Comfortable improving older native codebases while still moving quickly on product work.

  • Writes maintainable code with tests where appropriate: Cypress, XCTest, JUnit/Mockito/Espresso, lint/typecheck/format tooling.

Benefits

We're offering a competitive salary of $140,000–$190,000 (based on your location, experience, and skills) for this full-time role. You'll work fully remote from anywhere in the U.S. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, meaningful equity, a 401(k), and unlimited PTO.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
