Summary:

Cobalt AI uses automation to elevate physical safety and security in the workplace. Our platform, Cobalt Monitoring Intelligence, is a hybrid AI system, cloud-hosted with edge-deployed hardware, that provides human-verified, real-time monitoring of surveillance cameras, alarms, and robots across enterprise locations.

We're hiring a Product Manager to partner with our VP of Product and build the structure that turns product strategy into shipped reality. You'll own the operating system around how we make and execute product decisions: the specs, prioritization frameworks, KPI dashboards, release cadences, and cross-functional rituals that keep a fast-moving team aligned as we scale. If you're a builder of product operating systems and not just features, this is your role.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own Cobalt's product operating system: specs, roadmap views, prioritization frameworks, KPI dashboards, persona docs, and release notes — and keep them current, linked, and trusted across the company
  • Partner with the VP of Product to translate product strategy into prioritized, well-scoped roadmaps and execution plans
  • Make prioritization decisions and clearly communicate tradeoffs to engineering leads and executive stakeholders
  • Conduct customer interviews, GSOC ride-alongs, and SQL-based data analysis to deeply understand operator workflows and pain points
  • Write detailed product specs with clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics
  • Work daily with Engineering through sprint planning, standups, and review cycles
  • Ship iteratively — define MVPs, instrument outcomes, and adjust based on production data and customer feedback
  • Run cross-functional release communication — partnering with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing on launches, enablement materials, and competitive positioning with consistent cadences and formats
  • Present product execution updates, delivery roadmaps, and customer-facing AI capabilities to executive leadership and enterprise customers
  • Champion Cobalt's "human-verified AI" approach — ensure every deployed AI workflow includes human-in-the-loop gates, audit trails, and explainability
  • Partner with Engineering and Legal to ensure AI-driven features maintain transparency and compliance

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of shipping AI-powered or B2B SaaS products
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain product operating systems — documentation hierarchy, prioritization frameworks, release cadences, KPI tracking — that other teams actually use and stay aligned to
  • Detail orientation that shows up in the artifacts you've left behind — specs that didn't go stale, dashboards that stayed current, comms that other teams trusted
  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable with SQL, product analytics tools, and data-informed decision making
  • Proven ability to translate complex AI capabilities into clear user value propositions that non-technical stakeholders can evaluate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — can write a tight spec and run a structured cross-functional release process
  • Experience in high-stakes industries (security, fintech, healthcare, defense) where trust and reliability are non-negotiable
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams in an agile, cross-functional environment

Why Work for Us?:

Competitive salary, equity, and full benefits (medical, vision, dental). Flexible work arrangements. A proven platform, an expanding customer base, and the opportunity to shape the engineering org at an inflection point.

Salary Range: $160k - $200k (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)
