The Senior Product Manager will lead AI product strategy, define AI capabilities, collaborate with engineering, and drive impactful outcomes for customers.
The summary above was generated by AI

At Puzzle, we’re not just building accounting software, we are fundamentally reimagining how modern businesses understand and run their finances. Our platform brings together accounting, fintech, and data to give startups and small businesses clarity and control that was only previously available to large companies.

AI is a core part of our customer’s future. We believe that much of how users interact with software will happen through AI- often via a prompt box, agents, or AI-enabled workflows, powering real-time accounting for the first time. This role sits at the center of that transformation.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a senior, AI-focused Product Manager to own and lead our agentic buildout of a strategically critical area of the business- one that operates like its own product line and revenue stream. You’ll have end-to-end ownership, responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and roadmap for how AI shows up across Puzzle today and how it meaningfully evolves over time.

This is a high-impact individual contributor position. Success requires strong product leadership, technical fluency, and the ability to drive outcomes through influence and cross-functional partnership.

This role is for someone who is genuinely curious about where AI is headed and thoughtful about how to apply it responsibly and effectively to our business. You stay current on how the technology is evolving, understand its strengths and limitations, and enjoy experimenting with new tools and ideas- whether that’s through hands-on exploration, side projects, or shipping AI-powered features in real products.

You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data, and GTM teams, and report directly to the CEO.

This role is open to candidates across the U.S. Bay Area–based candidates are a plus.

What You’ll Do

Set the AI Vision

  • Define Puzzle’s AI product strategy and roadmap- from prompt-based experiences to more agentic, end-to-end workflows.

  • Be a thoughtful voice on where AI adds real value (vs. automation or deterministic systems).

  • Act as an internal AI champion, helping the company level up how it thinks about and uses AI.

Build AI Products That Matter

  • Partner with Engineering and Design to ship AI capabilities that meaningfully reduce manual work and unlock new customer value.

  • Go beyond “time savings” to outcomes that help customers grow revenue and rethink how work gets done.

Lead Through Clarity & Collaboration

  • Synthesize input from customers, data, engineering, and leadership to make confident product decisions.

  • Navigate ambiguity as technology and customer needs evolve.

  • Work cross-functionally with GTM teams to position, launch, and iterate on AI features.

Influence & Uplevel

  • Lead through strong product thinking, technical fluency, and clear communication.

  • Mentor other PMs and help shape Puzzle’s product practices around AI.

Who You Are

Experienced Product Leader

  • 7+ years in product management, ideally in B2B SaaS (fintech a strong plus).

  • Comfortable owning complex, technical product areas or building net-new products from scratch.

  • Experienced partnering closely with engineering; technical or engineering background is a bonus.

  • Commercially minded. Focused on delivering real, measurable impact for customers and the business- not just building features that look cool on paper.

AI-Curious & Practically Fluent

  • Solid understanding of what AI is (and isn’t), including how it differs from traditional ML and automation.

  • Regular user of AI tools, with hands-on experience experimenting, prototyping, and using AI in your business and personal life.

  • Loves exploring new ideas, tools, and approaches beyond what’s required.

Strong Product Judgment

  • Known for making thoughtful decisions and standing behind them, even with incomplete information.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving startup environment.

  • Clear, persuasive communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building products for accounting or finance teams.

  • Exposure to revenue-driving product initiatives.

  • Familiarity with agentic workflows, copilots, or AI-first UX patterns.

What’s In It For You?

Join Puzzle at a pivotal moment where AI is reshaping both our product and our industry. You’ll have the rare opportunity to own a critical, high-visibility product area, influence company strategy, and help define how AI-powered accounting products actually work in the real world.

Here’s a preview of some of the benefits at Puzzle:

  • Competitive base pay and meaningful equity

  • 100% paid employee health, dental, and vision plans (U.S. & Canada vary)

  • 10 observed holidays and a flexible PTO policy

  • $1,000 home office budget

  • $2,400 co-working budget

  • $600 learning & development budget

  • 401(k)

  • And more
