As the Senior Product Manager for Cloudflare One Appliance, you will lead the vision and execution of a managed hardware and virtual appliance, leveraging AI to enhance customer connectivity and automate workflows, while collaborating with internal teams and maintaining vendor relations.

Available Location: Austin
About the role
As the PM for Cloudflare One Appliance, you will own the vision and execution for Cloudflare One Appliance, a lightweight managed hardware and virtual appliance that serves as the primary on-ramp for customers connecting any physical and cloud environments. Cloudflare One Appliance bridges the gap between a customer's physical network and Cloudflare's security and networking stack, providing automated connectivity for any IP traffic.
This role is for a PM who sees the current moment in AI as an opportunity to rethink the way you work, and the way your products work. You won't just be owning a roadmap, you'll be pioneering the use of AI to automate traffic steering and collapse complex configurations into seamless, automated workflows. It's time to build a better solution and reinvent the market. You'll do this by:
  • Rethinking the customer journey from end-to-end: from how our customers receive their hardware through day-to-day operations you will identify where automation and AI can eliminate entire categories of toil, not just speed up existing steps
  • Build AI-assisted products: move beyond using AI for insights towards autonomous and self-healing systems
  • Champion Cloudflare products internally and externally: improve our products by knowing them inside and out, and help our customers understand why they are great

Key responsibilities
  • Own the Appliance roadmap: Define priorities, make tradeoffs, and maintain a clear view of what we're building and why.
  • Own the Appliance vendor relationship: Work with our Lifecycle Service Provider (LSP) and GTM teams to ensure a seamless buying experience for sales, patterns, and customers.
  • Define and track success metrics: Establish measurable outcomes for our product and the outcomes our customers are driving towards.
  • Write PRDs and specs: Author clear product documentation that frames the problem, success criteria, and constraints-while leaving room for engineering to determine the best approach.
  • Partner with engineering leadership: Collaborate on quarterly planning, staffing allocation, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Communicate across the org: Keep stakeholders informed on progress, decisions, and upcoming changes. Evangelize new features and drive adoption.

Key competencies
  • Problem-first thinking: You understand problems deeply before jumping to solutions. You bring the team along on the journey-sharing context, inviting input, and building shared understanding before arriving at a solution.
  • Outcomes orientation: You define success in terms of measurable impact, not activities or deliverables. You ask "How will we know it worked?" before building.
  • AI fluency: You actively use AI tools in your own work and stay current on how AI is changing software development. You can separate signal from hype and focus on what actually improves developer outcomes.
  • Cross-functional partnership: You collaborate effectively with engineering, design, and other product teams. You work well asynchronously and respect people's time.
  • Data-informed decision making: You use data to inform product decisions and measure impact-but you know when data is insufficient and judgment is required.
  • Technical credibility: You can hold your own in conversations with engineers about architecture, tradeoffs, and implementation approaches.
  • Clear communication: You write and speak with precision. You prefer outcomes over activities, and direct feedback over hedging.

Experience
  • Experience in enterprise networking, SD-WAN, SASE or infrastructure products.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of how the Internet works at layers 1 through 7.
  • Specific expertise in IPsec, GRE, SD-WAN, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) is a big plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and cloud on-ramp architectures.
  • Experience with cloud-managed hardware products.
