Position Overview:
This role serves as the commercial marketing leader for the Endovascular portfolio, accountable for defining and executing portfolio strategy and positioning, driving long-term growth, and influencing decisions across commercial, clinical, and product development functions. This role requires deep engagement with physicians, close partnership with cross-functional teams, and the ability to influence both near-term execution and longer-term portfolio strategy.
Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Execution
1. Develop and execute downstream marketing strategies to achieve revenue and market share targets
2. Represent the Endovascular business at executive leadership reviews and contribute to enterprise strategic planning initiatives.
3. Become marketing leader for endovascular portfolio, responsible for market development, marketing and execution through partnership with the NA sales team.
4. Maintain deep expertise in the endovascular market, including customer needs, clinical trends, competitive dynamics, and product performance.
5. Lead product launches, new indications, and market development initiatives
6. Collaborate with regional marketing teams and sales leadership (as needed) to understand, and support regional goals, regional product launch and regional market research.
Customer & Market Engagement
7. Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (cardiac & vascular surgeons)
8. Engage customers through field travel, trainings, and industry congresses
9. Translate voice of customer insights into actionable commercial initiatives
10. Collaborate with Medical Education, Clinical team, and physician consultants to support and ensure ongoing clinician education goals and outcomes align with business goals.
Product Lifecycle Management
11. Manage full product lifecycle including positioning, segmentation, and portfolio optimization
12. Identify growth opportunities, differentiation strategies, and line extensions
13. Support forecasting and demand planning with Sales, Operations, and Finance
Launch & Sales Enablement
14. Develop value propositions, messaging, and marketing collateral
15. Create and deliver training tools for sales teams and physician education
16. Ensure field readiness and successful adoption of new products through robust training delivery
Cross-Functional Collaboration
17. Lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategic priorities.
18. Mentor and develop marketing talent, fostering organizational capability and succession planning within the commercial organization.
19. Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies impacting the Endovascular business.
20. Partner with Upstream Marketing, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Operations, etc
21. Provide market insights to inform pipeline, clinical strategies and business decisions
Financial Management
22. Lead annual operating plan development and long-range forecasting for the Endovascular business.
23. Track ROI and optimize marketing investments, and manage budgets for product line
24. Present performance updates and strategic plans to leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, life sciences, or related field. MBA or advanced business degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive medical device industry experience. Endovascular experience highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading portfolio strategy and large-scale commercialization efforts.
- Proven ability to influence senior leadership and drive strategic decisions with excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong clinical and technical acumen in complex procedural environments knowledge of aortic anatomy preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to extract and translate customer insights into commercial strategies and execution plans.
- Prior people leadership experience preferred (direct or indirect).
- Strong analytical, financial, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to travel 30-40%
