We’ve built an inclusive, flexible, and candid culture where you’re empowered to grow, take smart risks, and be unapologetically yourself (cape optional). Whether remote or in-office, we support how you thrive best. We invest in your well-being, development, and ability to make an impact because when one Nerd levels up, we all do.

As a Senior Product Manager (Insurance) at NerdWallet, you’ll shape products that help millions of people confidently navigate life’s big insurance decisions, including auto, home, life, and more. You’ll build experiences and partnerships that make comparing and purchasing coverage more transparent, accessible, and empowering. You’ll combine user empathy with a strong understanding of the insurance ecosystem to simplify complex choices and create products that truly serve our users’ best interests.

In this role, you’ll turn strategy into action by defining and delivering the roadmap for key insurance initiatives that drive measurable impact. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, design, analytics, and business teams to make informed tradeoffs and ensure that every launch advances both user and business goals. You’ll balance short-term improvements with long-term vision, using data, curiosity, and a deep commitment to helping consumers make smarter financial choices.

You’ll own critical components of the insurance experience, from quoting flows and partner integrations to experimentation and data-driven optimizations. You’ll work closely with engineering to discuss technical tradeoffs, manage feature delivery from concept through launch, and use insights to guide continuous improvement. Above all, you’ll be an advocate for transparency, accessibility, and trust, ensuring that NerdWallet’s insurance products empower every consumer to make informed decisions with confidence.

Where you can make an impact:
  • Deliver Results: Execute product improvements that simplify the insurance shopping experience and increase consumer engagement.

  • Collaborate Broadly: Work cross-functionally with engineering, design, data, and external partners to bring insurance products to life.

  • Contribute to Strategy: Provide recommendations to the insurance roadmap based on insights from user research, partner data, and competitive analysis.

  • Champion the User: Advocate for transparency and simplicity in all consumer-facing experiences.

  • Measure What Matters: Track and report on the performance of product changes, learning from outcomes to inform the next iteration.

Your experience:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in product management.

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance technology.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive outcomes through execution of roadmap initiatives.

  • Experience working with partner integrations or third-party APIs.

  • Proficiency with data tools (e.g., Amplitude, Looker, or Google Analytics), interpreting experiment results and using data to guide decision-making.

  • Utilize A/B testing and user research to drive data-driven product development.

  • Familiarity with user growth and engagement strategies leveraging mobile messaging channels.

  • Able to clearly articulate via written and verbal communication rationale, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
