About Engine
Engine is the all-in-one travel and spend management platform trusted by 38K+ businesses and groups representing 1.8M+ travelers. We're the retailer and the rails of business travel, one of the fastest-growing companies in travel tech, built on a decade of proprietary technology, supply, and pricing no one else can replicate. Other travel and AI companies run on our infrastructure to book real trips, hold rates, and move payments, without building any of it themselves. We built it, AI-forward at every layer, from how travelers book to how the rails run.
That work has earned recognition as one of Fast Company's Best Workplaces for Innovators (2025), TravelTech's Reservation Platform of the Year (2026), and one of Built In's Best Places to Work (2020–2026).
We're looking for bold, ambitious people to help redefine how businesses manage and experience travel. Working here, you can expect exponential growth, an ambitious pace, full ownership, and high-caliber colleagues who push you to do the best work of your career. Every hire raises the bar.

Come outpace the ordinary and build the future of travel with us.

Your Mission

As Senior Product Manager for Payments, you'll own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for a mission-critical part of Engine's business: enabling seamless payments acceptance and issuing capabilities. Payments sits at the intersection of fintech innovation and customer experience, and it powers acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization. You'll work across engineering, design, partnerships, and go to market to evolve and expand a mature payments platform into what Engine needs next.

  • Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for a suite of payments and fintech products, including payment acceptance, card issuing, and the financial infrastructure that underpins everything customers transact on Engine.
  • Expand Engine's payments capabilities by integrating new payment methods, card programs, and financial partners, balancing long term platform bets against near term customer and revenue wins.
  • Partner closely with Business Development and other Product leaders to shape and land partnerships that materially expand what Engine's payments ecosystem can do.
  • Work with cross functional design, engineering, marketing, CX, and sales partners to bring initiatives to life from initial ideation through post launch, and set the bar for how the work gets shipped.
  • Raise the AI bar across Payments. Use AI in how you work day to day, and build AI-native experiences into the product where they meaningfully change how customers pay, get paid, and manage spend.
  • Hold the room. Represent Payments in exec conversations, cross functional forums, and customer deep dives, and make sure people understand what Payments is building and why.
What You'll Bring to Engine

We're looking for someone ready to make a real impact on a foundational part of Engine:

  • Experience: 6+ years in product management, with meaningful time spent on technical or platform products. You've owned complex backend systems end to end and shipped products that other teams and customers depend on.
    • Bonus Points: Direct experience in payments, credit cards, or fintech, with hands-on exposure to payment acceptance, card issuing, or related systems like authorization, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Technical Depth: Comfort going deep with engineering on architecture, tradeoffs, and system design. You can hold your own in a technical review and turn ambiguity into a crisp plan.
  • Systems Thinking: You can build cross functional systems from zero and scale them with a long term lens. You zoom out to strategy and zoom in to execution with equal comfort.
  • Customer Obsession: Even on a platform, you keep the end customer in view. You know that infrastructure decisions eventually show up in the customer experience, and you design for that.
  • AI Fluency: You use AI tools daily and have a clear point of view on where they change the game for product teams and for payments. You've shipped AI-powered features or workflows, know the difference between real value and hype, and you push the teams around you to adopt AI in both how they work and what they build.
  • Mindset: You're a builder at heart, hands on, collaborative, and excited to help scale one of Engine's most important platforms.

Applications for this role will be accepted through 11/5/26 or until the role is filled. We encourage you to apply early, as we may begin reviewing applications before the deadline.
