Proof of work

The team

The Growth team is responsible for building seamless, engaging client journeys that drive activation and adoption. Within this team, you will lead strategy and execution for onboarding and verification experiences across consumer, business, and institutional clients.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who can think strategically, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver regulatory-compliant, high-performing solutions at scale. You’ll own a critical part of our growth funnel and set the direction for onboarding globally.

The opportunity
  • Define and own the onboarding platform strategy, building the foundational infrastructure that powers identity verification, KYC workflows, and client activation across Consumer, Business, and Institutional segments.

  • Lead the rearchitecture of Kraken’s onboarding platform, translating technical debt and infrastructure investment into clear business outcomes like faster launches, improved reliability, and reduced operational risk.

  • Build a self-serve onboarding platform that enables product and engineering teams to independently launch onboarding flows, experiments, and regional experiences without relying on a central team.

  • Partner deeply with engineering to scale core onboarding capabilities such as identity verification, document processing, verification orchestration, and compliance workflows.

  • Transform onboarding from a set of isolated flows into a unified platform, enabling teams to unlock new products like Futures, Margin, and Kraken Pro through modular, reusable capabilities.

  • Align product, engineering, compliance, and operations stakeholders, ensuring platform investments support both regulatory requirements and product velocity.

  • Define adoption and success metrics for the onboarding platform, driving measurable improvements in activation rates, team velocity, and platform utilization.

  • Shape the future of crypto onboarding, anticipating regulatory shifts and building scalable infrastructure that supports global expansion.

Skills you should HODL
  • 5+ years of product management experience, including experience building platforms, infrastructure products, or internal developer tooling.

  • Proven experience delivering platform or self-serve products, with internal teams (engineering, product, operations) as your primary customers.

  • Strong ability to translate technical infrastructure work into business impact, influencing stakeholders to prioritize foundational investments.

  • Experience leading large-scale platform evolutions or rearchitectures, balancing long-term system health with near-term product delivery.

  • Track record of enabling teams through scalable mechanisms such as documentation, self-serve tooling, platform APIs, and developer workflows.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including writing strategy docs, PRDs, and narratives that influence senior leadership.

  • Passion for Bitcoin and crypto, and belief in Kraken’s mission to accelerate global adoption of digital assets.

Nice to haves
  • Deep understanding of onboarding, identity verification, or regulated workflows, including KYC/AML requirements in fintech, crypto, or similar industries.

Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.

We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.

Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives. We hire strictly based on merit, meaning we seek out the candidates with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills considered the most suitable for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgable about crypto!

We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments are designed to evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Assessment results are considered alongside other relevant information, such as experience and interviews, and are not the sole basis for any employment decision.

As an equal opportunity employer, we don’t tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. Whether that’s based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state or local laws.
