Tubi is redefining what free streaming can be. Built boldly for every fandom, Tubi delivers the largest library of movies and TV shows on the planet, spanning Hollywood hits, cult classics, creator-led stories, and an ever-growing slate of Tubi Originals crafted for passionate audiences. With over 100 million monthly active users and a footprint that makes us the most-watched free streaming service in the U.S. and Canada, we’re on a mission to give everyone access to the world’s stories.

About the Role:

At the heart of Tubi’s experience is the player: the moment a user presses play and the world around them dissolves into a story. Tubi’s Player team owns the core player UX and video playback experience across every platform: CTV, mobile, and web. From the first frame to the final second, this team shapes how over 100 million monthly active users watch, discover, and engage our library, and drives Tubi’s most important business outcomes.

We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager for our Player Experience to lead the vision, strategy, and execution for this team. This role sits at the intersection of innovation in UI/UX design, rigorous experimentation, and technical video infrastructure, owning everything from playback controls and in-player discovery surfaces to the live TV experience, and AI-powered UX features that are redefining how users interact with content. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a PM who thrives on building groundbreaking UX, moving fast through data, and thinking deeply about what the future of streaming feels like

This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office. You must be willing to travel to our San Francisco office two days/week.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the Player roadmap: Define product strategy, OKRs, and success metrics targeting view time, revenue, and engagement across Tubi’s playback surfaces, from pre-roll through post-play. Translate the team’s H1 and annual bets into a coherent, prioritized plan and maintain ruthless focus on the highest-leverage investments.
  • Design innovative playback UI/UX: Lead a high-velocity program to build best-in-class playback experiences, including dynamic post-play flows, browse-while-watching surfaces, in-player content discovery, and AI driven experiences that push what a player UI can do. You don’t just iterate on existing patterns; you conceive of experiences users didn’t know they wanted and have the conviction to ship them.
  • Drive a world-class A/B testing program: Own the end-to-end experimentation lifecycle for player experiences, from hypothesis design to instrumentation to analysis. Run dozens of concurrent experiments, maintain rigorous testing methodology, and translate complex behavioral signals from large-scale experiments into decisive, fast-moving product bets. Your experiments should consistently compound into measurable view time and revenue lift.
  • Shape AI-powered features: Define and ship AI-driven features across both the user-facing playback experience and backend player operations. This includes intelligent features that deepen content engagement during playback and leveraging AI to accelerate player diagnostics, experiment analysis, and operational efficiency, making the team faster without sacrificing quality.
  • Own the live TV viewing experience: Drive strategy and execution for Tubi’s linear channel product, including the EPG (electronic program guide), channel playback, and the end-to-end viewer journey for scheduled programming. Linear channels are a growing and strategically important part of Tubi’s content offering, and this role will play an increasingly central part in how Tubi supports and evolves its live content platform over time.
  • Maximize ad revenue through smart playback design: Partner with Ads and Engineering to optimize ad experiences within the player, including pre-roll timing, cue point optimization, and ad-adjacent UX, balancing monetization with viewer experience to drive incremental revenue without sacrificing retention.
  • Ensure rock-solid playback quality: Partner with Engineering to define quality thresholds, track key QoS metrics (buffering, startup time, error rates, concurrency performance), and own the player’s reliability and stability roadmap across platforms and device types.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment: Work closely with Design, Engineering, Data Science, ML, and Ads to ship cohesive, high-quality experiences, and serve as the PM voice for playback across Tubi’s product organization. Keep stakeholders informed and aligned through clear communication, strong documentation, and well-run planning processes.

Your Background:

  • 6+ years of product management experience, with significant time building consumer-facing products in streaming, media, or other high-engagement, high-volume environments where user behavior data drives every decision.
  • Exceptional track record in A/B experimentation, with hands-on experience designing, running, and analyzing user-facing experiments at scale. You understand statistical significance, experiment instrumentation, and the nuances of measuring behavioral outcomes, and you use this rigor to move fast without cutting corners. This is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
  • Strong creative and UX instincts, with a demonstrated ability to conceive and ship novel UI/UX experiences. You’ve built things that felt genuinely new, not just optimized versions of what already existed, and you can articulate and defend bold product bets with both qualitative intuition and quantitative support.
  • Strong analytical fluency, including comfort with behavioral data, funnel analysis, session-level metrics, and the ability to translate complex experiment results into clear, actionable product direction.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams across Engineering, Design, Data Science, and Operations to deliver high-quality, reliable product at scale and on time.
  • Deep user empathy and storytelling skills, with the ability to hold both the micro (what does this interaction feel like?) and the macro (how does this feature move our key metrics?) simultaneously, and communicate both effectively to diverse audiences.

Preferred

  • Technical understanding of video playback is preferred: familiarity with adaptive bitrate streaming (HLS/DASH), DRM, buffering dynamics, player state machines, CDN behavior, or ad insertion technology will help you move faster and build more credibly with your engineering team.
  • Experience with Live TV & Events or scheduled content products, including EPG design, live channel playback flows, live event production, and real-time content scheduling.
  • Background with AI/ML-powered product features, whether user-facing (personalization, intelligent adaptive UI) or operational (anomaly detection, automated diagnostics, experiment acceleration).
  • Cross-platform product experience across CTV, mobile, and web, with an understanding of how playback behavior, user intent, and technical constraints differ across device types.
  • Experience in ad-supported streaming, with familiarity around AVOD monetization mechanics, ad insertion tradeoffs, or revenue-adjacent UX decisions.
  • Bonus: Exposure to live events, sports, or real-time broadcasting from a product or platform perspective, including coordinating cross-team execution for high-stakes launches.
