Sitting at the intersection of business and technology, the Aladdin Product Management team works closely with developers, researchers, and other stakeholders to innovate, conceptualize, design and pilot new capabilities across the investment lifecycle. As a Product Manager within the Portfolio Management segment, you will have a positive impact on developing the product vision and leading day-to-day execution of the roadmap for Private Markets portfolio management solutions. 

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Product Manager to support the development of Aladdin’s portfolio management capabilities, with a focus on Private Markets (inc. Private Credit). You will work closely with Private Markets portfolio managers and other investment professionals to understand their workflows, translate requirements into product features, and partner with engineering teams to deliver solutions that have real impact on the Private Markets investment process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be a subject matter expert of Private Markets personas, workflows, and tools within the Portfolio Management space throughout the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define and own Private Markets Portfolio Management product strategy, vision, and roadmap, aligning development with business objectives and client needs
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of business, stakeholder and client needs and articulate business value and product intent to delivery teams to ensure understanding and effective execution of new releases and features
  • Plan, manage, and communicate release schedules, including tracking phases, milestones, features, user stories, and dependencies within and across releases
  • Partner with engineering to determine technical solutions and delivery timelines
  • Gather, evaluate & define detailed product requirements and product specifications by engaging directly with users to understand their needs, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation
  • Integrate client feedback and requests into product planning and development processes to continuously improve the offering
  • Influence teams across Aladdin to drive forward strategic product decisions, which includes leading product governance forums and working groups, coordinating agendas, and summarizing decisions, next steps, and product readiness for stakeholders
  • Develop, prioritize, and maintain roadmaps for the Private Markets portfolio manager build, provide quarterly updates on deliverables and create content for management communications
  • Develop a strong understanding of competitors and industry trends
  • Provide technical/industry expertise to both sales and clients directly on how to leverage the Aladdin offering to more effectively construct and manage their “whole portfolio” of private and public exposures

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in either a) a product management, business analysis, client service, or consulting role that includes building and launching technology or b) in an investment-related or portfolio management role
  • Interest in and knowledge of private markets and/or portfolio management workflows strongly preferred
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to lead, influence and work effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Commercial acumen and strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and execute efficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex information clearly and concisely to stakeholders and clients
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data driven decisions and deliver results quickly
  • Deep understanding of and/or willingness to master the product and software development lifecycles
  • Comfort working in ambiguous situations and proactively addressing complex business challenges
  • Experience partnering with users to shape or deliver product solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, equivalent practical experience
     
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$162,500.00 - USD$215,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
