About Plasmidsaurus

Plasmidsaurus is on a mission to accelerate new cures and promote a healthier planet by unlocking a new level of productivity for scientists. Our sequencing services are used daily by thousands of innovators, including Nobel laureates, Fortune 100 pharma, and over 70,000 scientists.

We began by revolutionizing plasmid sequencing, making it exponentially cheaper and faster, with innovative sequencing technologies and a global network of laboratories that turn samples into answers in hours, not weeks.

Now we are expanding that same disruptive model across all of genomics. With the launch of our new RNA-seq service, we are taking a bold step toward our vision to sequence everything, providing scientists everywhere with faster, simpler, and more affordable access to the data that powers discovery.

Every team member at Plasmidsaurus plays a crucial role in driving the future of biotech research. Together, we are building the world’s most efficient sequencing engine that operates overnight, scales globally, and helps scientists make breakthroughs faster than ever before.

Product Management leads the direction of our product portfolio, ensuring that what we build fits real customer needs, stands out in the market, and supports company goals. We connect strategy to execution, including owning product strategy and guiding the full product lifecycle.

Role Overview

Plasmidsaurus is hiring a Senior Product Manager who will define, own, and scale our Transcriptomics portfolio, including our recently launched and rapidly growing RNA-seq service. You will shape strategy, drive customer and market insight, and lead the development and launch of new transcriptomics applications, working in close partnership with Marketing and Revenue.

This role will expand RNA-seq beyond traditional gene expression use cases, leveraging speed and cost advantages to enable differentiated applications in areas such as cell line QC, cellular phenotyping, and differentiation state assessment. This is a senior individual contributor role with broad cross-functional influence.

What You’ll Do

Understand the Market and Customer
  • Lead research to understand customer segments, workflows, unmet needs, and decision drivers.

  • Analyze market dynamics, competitive offerings, and emerging applications in RNA-seq and related assays.

  • Translate customer insight into clear product requirements and prioritization frameworks.

  • Serve as the internal voice of the transcriptomics customer.

Own Product Strategy and Roadmap
  • Define and evolve the roadmap for the Transcriptomics portfolio.

  • Manage products from concept and validation through launch and iteration.

  • Identify and develop novel RNA-seq-based applications to advance scientific research.

  • Build business cases that align technical feasibility, operational capability, and commercial opportunity.

  • Ensure cross-functional alignment on roadmap priorities.

Enable Go-to-Market and Growth
  • Lead pricing and positioning strategies.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop Go-to-Market strategy, define product messaging, execute promotional activities, and enable Revenue teams.

  • Track adoption, customer feedback, and performance metrics to guide iteration.

Strengthen Product Management Foundations
  • Help evolve product management frameworks, documentation standards, and cross-functional processes.

  • Improve roadmap visibility and execution rigor across teams.

Expected Outcomes

Within 6 Months:

Customer Insights

  • Deliver clear segmentation and prioritization for transcriptomics customers.

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact applications for RNA-seq expansion.

Product Realization

  • Define and launch at least one new transcriptomics application.

Roadmap Ownership

  • Maintain a clear Transcriptomics product roadmap with cross-functional alignment.

Market Impact

  • Partner with Marketing and Revenue to drive adoption and measurable growth.

What You Bring

Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience launching products or services that deliver clear customer value.

  • Demonstrated ownership of full product lifecycle management, from sample preparation through data delivery.

  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

Technical Expertise
  • Deep understanding of the sequencing market, key customer segments, and RNA-seq applications.

  • Technical familiarity with short-read sequencing platforms, library preparation, and transcriptomic data analysis.

  • Familiarity with tissue culture workflows and cell biology assays. Hands-on research experience with cultured cell models (e.g., tumor cell lines or iPSCs) is highly desirable.

Education
  • Advanced degree in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, bioengineering, or related field (PhD preferred).

Core Competencies
  • Strong listening and customer discovery skills.

  • Structured data analysis and insight synthesis.

  • Strategic thinking balanced with execution focus.

  • Cross-functional coordination and influence without direct authority.

  • Clear written and verbal communication.
