About Prophecy

Prophecy is building the next generation of AI-powered Data Prep and Analytics. Our platform enables business analysts and data teams to transform raw data into reliable, production-ready datasets and insights faster, using modern data infrastructure and AI-driven capabilities. We work with leading enterprises to simplify how organizations prepare, analyze, and operationalize data, while maintaining strong governance, security, and operational control. Our mission is to make it dramatically easier for organizations to turn complex data into trusted insights that drive decisions.

Why This Role Exists

We are building an AI-native data platform that sits at the intersection of data infrastructure, analytics, and intelligent systems.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who operates like a builder and owner, not just a planner, but someone who:

  • Thinks in terms of the full data → insights → decisions → actions lifecycle
  • Uses AI tools and prototyping to explore ideas before formalizing them
  • Balances deep customer understanding with strong technical intuition
  • Drives products from concept to production with high ownership and velocity

You will own a product area end-to-end and play a critical role in shaping how analysts interact with data in modern enterprise environments.

What You’ll DoProduct Strategy & Ownership
  • Own and evolve the roadmap for a product area over a 1–3 quarter horizon, balancing customer needs, technical investments, and business goals
  • Translate product vision into clear initiatives and priorities aligned with Prophecy’s broader strategy
  • Evaluate opportunities based on impact, effort, and strategic fit, making thoughtful trade-offs
  • Think beyond features to systems: how do capabilities fit into the broader data and analytics ecosystem
Customer Insight & Discovery
  • Develop deep understanding of analyst workflows across data preparation, transformation, and analysis
  • Run continuous discovery through customer interviews, product usage data, sales and support signals, and win/loss analysis
  • Frame problems clearly before jumping to solutions
  • Understand enterprise constraints including governance, compliance, and operational complexity
AI-Native Product Development
  • Use AI tools (LLMs, copilots, workflows) as a core part of product development, not an afterthought
  • Build lightweight prototypes (prompts, workflows, internal tools) to validate ideas before writing full specifications
  • Identify where AI-driven capabilities and automation can meaningfully improve user workflows
  • Ensure AI features are reliable, explainable, and aligned with enterprise requirements
Product Development & Execution
  • Work closely with engineering and design to deliver high-quality product capabilities
  • Write clear, structured product specifications grounded in data and user insight
  • Define success metrics and track adoption, impact, and effectiveness
  • Monitor execution progress, identify risks early, and drive cross-team alignment
  • Maintain a high bar for usability, reliability, and product integrity
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Align engineering, design, sales, and customer success around shared outcomes
  • Communicate product direction through clear documentation and structured decision-making
  • Resolve ambiguity and misalignment quickly to maintain execution momentum
  • Contribute to product positioning and narrative through artifacts such as one-pagers, demos, and customer-facing materials
Operational Ownership
  • Own the operational health of your product area, including performance monitoring, feature adoption, issue triage, and iteration cycles
  • Establish and improve repeatable processes that increase execution speed and predictability
Who You AreRequired
  • 5+ years of product management experience in data platforms, analytics products, developer tools, or enterprise software
  • Strong understanding of data preparation, analytics workflows, and modern data infrastructure
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams to deliver technical products
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI-powered products or intelligent systems
  • Ability to translate complex problems into clear, actionable product specifications
  • Experience working with APIs, SDKs, CLIs, or other developer-facing systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience operating in a high-growth startup environment (Series A–C)
  • Comfortable using AI tools (LLMs, copilots) to accelerate your own workflow and product thinking
  • Ability to prototype ideas, e.g. prompts, workflows, lightweight tools to validate concepts quickly
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Spark, SQL, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, or orchestration systems
  • Experience working with enterprise customers and complex data environments
  • Ability to interpret product analytics and customer signals to guide decisions
Strongly Preferred
  • Experience shipping AI/ML-powered capabilities in data or analytics products
  • Deep familiarity with the modern data ecosystem, e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery
  • Experience building products for regulated industries, e.g. finance, healthcare, pharma with requirements around governance, lineage, and compliance
  • Experience navigating enterprise sales cycles and deployment constraints
How You Work
  • You operate with a sense of end-to-end ownership and accountability
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and move quickly to create clarity
  • You combine product intuition with data-driven decision making
  • You use tools including AI to increase leverage and speed
  • You care deeply about building products that deliver real, measurable outcomes for customers
