About zaimler
AI agents can't reason over data they don't understand. Enterprise data today is fragmented across dozens of systems with no shared context, meaning, or structure, and that's why most enterprise AI is failing. The shift from copilots to autonomous agents is creating an entirely new infrastructure layer, and we're building it.
zaimler is the context infrastructure for the agentic era: a platform that automatically discovers domain knowledge, maps relationships, and gives AI agents the semantic understanding to operate with precision at scale. Imagine knowledge graphs that support real-time inference, built for systems that need to reason, not just retrieve.
zaimler was founded by Biswajit Das (ex-VP Engineering, Truera), a Data Infra veteran and former Chief Architect at Visa, and Sofus Macskassy (ex-Director of Engineering, LinkedIn), who built one of the largest knowledge graphs in production in the industry at LinkedIn. We're growing and deploying with major enterprises across insurance, travel, and technology. If you want to build infrastructure that the next decade of enterprise AI runs on, we'd love to talk.
The Role
You'll be zaimler's first Product Manager. The platform exists, enterprise customers are live, and now we need someone to own the path from early traction to real adoption. That means defining what "knowledge as an API" looks like as a product, shaping the SDK and developer experience, and making the platform something customers pull into their stack rather than something we push.
This is a deeply technical, cross-functional role. You'll work directly with the founder, engineering, design, and GTM to drive product direction, and you'll spend real time with enterprise customers and ISV partners in the data and ML ecosystem to ground every decision in what actually matters.
What You'll Do
- Own the product end to end: vision, strategy, roadmap, execution, launch, and iteration for zaimler's platform capabilities
- Define and ship the core product surfaces: platform APIs, SDKs, developer experience, and the product interfaces that make zaimler's infrastructure accessible and self-serve
- Partner directly with enterprise customers and ISV partners to understand workflows, validate solutions, and prioritize the highest-impact work
- Drive adoption by working with engineering, design, sales, and marketing to ship features that move measurable customer outcomes
- Establish product metrics and feedback loops that connect what you're shipping to the value customers are getting
- Collaborate closely with the founder to align product initiatives with business goals, company narrative, and competitive positioning
Must-haves
- 5+ years of product management experience in cloud, data platforms, developer platforms, analytics, or ML infrastructure
- Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 in a greenfield environment, not just optimizing an existing product
- Deep familiarity with the data and ML ecosystem: enterprise use cases, integration patterns, and how data teams actually work
- Technical foundation: CS degree or prior engineering experience. You need to be able to engage with engineers on system design, API contracts, and architecture tradeoffs.
- Track record of shipping cross-functional products by partnering closely with engineering and design
- Exceptional communication: you can translate technical complexity into clear narratives for customers, stakeholders, and the team
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with large enterprise customers and ISV partners, particularly in data or ML ecosystems
- Background in knowledge graphs, semantic technologies, or AI infrastructure
- Experience building developer-facing products (APIs, SDKs, documentation, developer portals)
- Prior experience at an early-stage startup where you shaped product direction alongside founders
Working style
- You'd rather talk to a customer than write a PRD, and you use what you learn to make the PRD better
- You're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and iterating fast
- You think about adoption as a product problem, not a marketing problem
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary benchmarked to the San Mateo/Bay Area market
- Meaningful early-stage equity
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Flexible PTO
- On-site in San Mateo, CA
- Commuter Benefits
We value builders over résumés. If this role excites you but you don't check every box, we still want to hear from you. zaimler is an equal opportunity employer.
