You will operate at the intersection of product, capital markets and customer experience, translating complex liquidity structures, market dynamics and regulatory considerations into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with sophisticated institutional audiences. As a core cross-functional partner, you will collaborate closely with product management, capital markets, business development, marketing, communications, compliance and executive leadership to bring new supply side capabilities and market programs to life.

This role plays a critical part in shaping Forge’s marketplace strategy by leveraging customer insights, competitive intelligence, and market trends to inform product direction, influence prioritization, and accelerate high quality supply participation across Forge’s private markets platform.

Location: This role requires 2-3 days a week in office in San Francisco, CA

Responsibilities

  • Own product marketing strategy for institutional audiences, defining positioning, messaging, go to market plans and product campaigns that drive engagement from venture capital firms, family offices, and other institutional private company shareholders.
  • Partner deeply with product management and capital markets teams to influence roadmap direction, validate institutional supply needs, and ensure product capabilities align with seller objectives, liquidity outcomes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive gotomarket excellence for new supply side products, programs, and market structures, including leading market validation, launch planning, messaging frameworks, and execution to maximize participation and liquidity.
  • Develop institutional customer and market insights through direct engagement, research, and data analysis, using insights to refine product narratives, inform strategy, and optimize supply acquisition and retention.
  • Craft compelling narratives and content formats that articulate Forge’s value to sophisticated sellers, clearly explaining liquidity options, market access, pricing dynamics, and execution outcomes.
  • Enable business development and partnerships by creating high impact training materials, sales enablement tools, pitch narratives, and customer facing content that support supply sourcing and longterm relationships.
  • Lead competitive intelligence efforts focused on secondary platforms, liquidity solutions, and alternative transaction models, translating market dynamics into actionable positioning and strategic recommendations.
  • Steer cross-functional initiatives across product, marketing, capital markets, legal, and compliance to drive alignment and execution on initiatives that strengthen Forge’s institutional ecosystem.

Qualifications:

  • Growth mindset & adaptability: You thrive in fast moving, ambiguous environments, learn quickly, and bring structure and clarity to complex, evolving private market dynamics.
  • Strategic thinker & hands on operator: You balance longterm marketplace strategy with tactical execution, comfortably shifting from high level positioning to detailed messaging, launches, and enablement assets.
  • Deep private markets or financial services experience: 8–10+ years of experience in fintech, capital markets, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, wealth management, or adjacent financial services. Experience working with institutional investors or private company shareholders strongly preferred.
  • B2B or B2B2C product marketing experience: Proven experience leading product marketing initiatives for institutional, enterprise, or marketplace platforms, with a track record of driving adoption and participation.
  • Institutional fluent storyteller: Exceptional ability to distill complex, regulated, and market driven products into clear, credible narratives that resonate with sophisticated investment audiences.
  • Technical and market fluency: Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, liquidity mechanisms, transaction structures, and data driven products, with the ability to collaborate effectively with product, data, and legal teams.
  • Influential cross-functional partner: Demonstrated ability to work across capital markets, product, compliance, and executive stakeholders to align priorities and drive results.
  • Strong executive presence: Polished written and verbal communicator, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and representing Forge with institutional customers and partners.
