Who We Are

Nuro is a self-driving technology company on a mission to make autonomy accessible to all. Founded in 2016, Nuro is building the world’s most scalable driver, combining cutting-edge AI with automotive-grade hardware. Nuro licenses its core technology, the Nuro Driver™, to support a wide range of applications, from robotaxis and commercial fleets to personally owned vehicles. With technology proven over years of self-driving deployments, Nuro gives the automakers and mobility platforms a clear path to AVs at commercial scale, empowering a safer, richer, and more connected future.

 Our Team

Nuro takes an ML-first approach to autonomous driving. In this ecosystem, system performance is directly gated by the quantity, diversity, and integrity of our training data.

As a Senior Project Manager, Software Operations, you will operate at the strategic intersection of Autonomy Engineering and global operations, ensuring the data that trains our models meets the highest standards of quality, scale, and safety. Software Operations at Nuro is the backbone of our machine-learning lifecycle. The team is responsible for transforming massive volumes of unstructured sensor data into the high-fidelity assets required to teach our Nuro Driver™ how to navigate the world.

This team manages the end-to-end data factory, which includes complex semantic labeling (identifying objects and intent), HD mapping (building the digital twin of the road), and rigorous software validation (testing code against real-world data). Your mission is to scale these engines to ensure our models are trained on gold-standard data that meets uncompromising safety requirements. In this role, you will manage large-scale data programs, optimize the efficiency of our global offshore workforce, and architect the technical workflows that turn raw sensor logs into actionable autonomous intelligence.

About the Role

  • Collaborate with autonomy, systems, and data platform engineering teams to plan and execute projects in order to deliver data that are critical to our expansion goals.
  • Serve as the key liaison between Operations and Engineering to guarantee scalable and high quality data
  • Leverage comfort with ambiguity to initiate new workflows and refine existing processes to meet evolving demands.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to conduct an in-depth assessment of our offshore team's workforce, focusing on improving operational efficiency and quality management.
  • Diagnose pipeline status within a program and deliver clear, articulate, data-driven recommendations.

About the Work

  • Experience leading projects using a variety of approaches (e.g., formal project management, agile, or other collaborative methods).
  • Ability to build strong, trust-based relationships and act as a thoughtful partner in change with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Comfort working in dynamic, fast paced and ever evolving environments, with the flexibility to adapt as priorities and needs shift.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to develop project plans that align with the unique needs of each initiative.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to make complex information accessible to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to influence, align, and present ideas effectively, supporting collaboration and informed decision-making.

About You

  • 5+ years of project/program management experience partnering closely with software development teams.
  • Strong product/technology background with experience in product management, consulting or engineering (software domain preferred).
  • Mastery of SDLC and systemic risk management, with demonstrated ability to diagnose pipeline status and drive clear, data-backed recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Smartsheet, and related project tools; ability to build clear, executive-ready reporting.
  • Ability to query data using SQL/BigQuery to diagnose bottlenecks and communicate status.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; strong influencing and presentation abilities across senior leadership and executives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field (or equivalent practical experience).

Bonus Points

  • PMP and/or Agile certifications
  • MBA
  • Coding background
  • Prior consulting experience is a plus
