Work Location: This position is laboratory-based and requires onsite presence at Evommune’s Palo Alto location five days per week. Occasional work outside standard business hours may be required based on experimental or operational needs.

Travel: This role may require occasional travel to support research activities, external partners, and company meetings.

The Position

Senior Research Associate (SRA)/Scientist I

Evommune is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic Senior Research Associate (SRA) / Scientist I to support in vitro and in vivo translational research across our discovery and preclinical programs. This individual will execute experiments and analyze, interpret, and document data to advance research programs. Depending on experience and level, the individual may also independently design and conceptualize experiments, develop new assays, prepare scientific reports, and communicate findings to internal teams.

The Senior Research Associate / Scientist I will be a key member of Evommune's internal Biology team and will contribute to the effective operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support translational studies for preclinical programs.
  • Prepare for and perform hands-on execution of in vitro pharmacology experiments.
  • Support the design and oversight of in vivo pharmacology studies conducted through CRO partners.
  • Maintain cell cultures and biological samples.
  • Identify, order, organize, store, and appropriately dispose of laboratory reagents required for studies.
  • Collaborate with the Biology laboratory team to maintain laboratory space, equipment, and inventory.
  • Record and maintain experimental data and prepare technical reports and study summaries.
  • Communicate project progress to the supervisor in a timely and concise manner.
  • Depending on experience and level, independently develop and implement new assays, execute experiments, perform data analyses of moderate complexity, and assume responsibility for specific methods or studies.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to technical staff, new research staff, or interns, as appropriate.
  • Manage experimental timelines to meet project goals and deliverables.
  • Present scientific findings at project, department, and company meetings.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members to support research and program needs.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Immunology or a related life sciences discipline, or an M.S. with 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience in an academic and/or industry setting. Relevant disciplines may include immunology, cellular or molecular biology, microbiology, or related fields. Experience in B-cell biology and/or autoimmune disease is preferred. Final title and level will be determined based on the successful candidate's education and relevant experience.
  • Experience in experimental techniques such as handling of primary human/animal tissue, cell culture, ELISAs/MSDs, flow cytometry, nucleic acid isolation, and qRT-PCR is required.
  • Experience in the analysis of RNA-seq and/or scRNA-seq data is preferred.
  • Must be highly organized, punctual, and precise in both the execution of laboratory experiments and the maintenance of laboratory space and materials.
  • Ability to work independently. Some experiments may occasionally require work outside standard business hours, including evenings or weekends.
  • Must be comfortable working in a laboratory environment.
  • Possess effective problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as commonly used collaboration tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Box.
  • Experience using an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN), such as Benchling, as well as statistical analysis software, such as Graphpad Prism, is preferred.

  • Ability to efficiently manage time and priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to travel independently between Evommune headquarters and laboratory sites as required.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $109,000-$150,000 and the position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and/or equity-linked compensation.  Salary ranges are determined by role, level and location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We offer Company-sponsored benefits, which include comprehensive health, dental and vision plans, and pet insurance. In addition, we provide a 401(k) plan, ample time off programs, paid parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance and an employee referral bonus program.
