Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).

About The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing revenue accounting team. Our team builds scalable processes to support Notion’s revenue operations through accurate and complete revenue accounting, reporting and compliance. Reporting to the Revenue Manage, you will be a critical member of the team, helping to build, operate and evolve our processes and systems to scale with our fast growing business.

What You'll Achieve:

As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for leading the revenue accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly close activities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliation and revenue schedules.
  • Establish effectively relationships with other teams (Monetization Engineering, Sales, Legal, Deal Desk) and work cross-functionally across the organization
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk on non-standard financial terms, review & assess revenue impacts.
  • Assist in building and refining our revenue processes and controls, including identifying automation opportunities to streamline workflows.
  • Support Financial Reporting and Audit requirements related to Revenue.

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

  • 5+ years of revenue accounting experience, preferably in a technology company
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and ASC 606
  • Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams
  • Experience navigating large amounts of data
  • Experience working with Netsuite, Stripe and Salesforce (or similar EPR / CRM tools)
  • Use and experiment with AI tools as part of your daily routine

Nice to Haves:

  • CPA (active or inactive)
  • Experience with SQL or willingness to learn
  • Experience with using Notion

Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $115,000- $140,000 per year.
