Responsible for developing drivers, adapters, and middleware to connect orchestration software to PLCs, industrial robots, and motion systems. Design and implement industrial protocols, write high-performance C/C++/Go code on Linux, perform low-level socket diagnostics and packet inspection, and collaborate with architecture and controls teams to ensure reliable device-level communication.

At Kerrigan Robotics, we aren’t just adding more "iron" to the factory floor; we’re building the intelligence that brings it all to life. As an AI-powered, robot-agnostic orchestration platform, we bridge the gap between high-level software and complex physical hardware, harmonizing everything from humanoids and drones to legacy ERP and WMS systems. Our team’s pedigree is rooted in scaling the impossible, having first proven our mettle at Tesla by scaling $5B worth of equipment and thousands of robots globally before achieving seamless multi-branded integration for Rivian’s fleet and lineside controls.  While the rest of the industry focuses on building individual robots, we are operationalizing heterogeneous automation at scale slashing production ramp-up times by 70% and making enterprise level expansion feel effortless. If you’re ready to turn fragmented data into harmonious communication and help make the future of manufacturing simpler, more reliable, and truly unified, your next challenge starts here.
The Role
As a Robotics Integration Specialist, you will be the primary engineer responsible for how our
platform speaks to the physical world. This is a deep-tech, hands-on role focused on developing
the reliable communication layers (drivers, adapters, and middleware) that allow our software to
command and control PLCs, industrial robots, and motion systems.

Key Responsibilities
● Protocol Development: Design and maintain software components that implement
industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT).
● Driver Engineering: Build and optimize communication libraries and device adapters for
proprietary vendor SDKs.
● Low-Level Diagnostics: Troubleshoot complex communication issues using socket-level
diagnostics and packet inspection.
● Code Excellence: Write high-performance, well-tested code in C, C++, and Go that meets
industrial reliability standards.
● Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Architecture and Controls teams to
implement technical requirements for hardware interfacing.

Requirements
● 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
● Hardware Fluency: Demonstrated experience writing software that interfaces directly with
PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff) or Robots (Fanuc, KUKA, ABB).
● Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Go within Linux environments.
● Networking Deep-Dive: Expert knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, socket programming,
and binary protocols.
● Execution: Proven ability to debug distributed, device-level systems.

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $175,000 – $210,000 per year.
