The Sales Commissions Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the finance, accounting, and sales organizations by managing, analyzing, and administering our variable incentive compensation plans. This position ensures accurate and timely commission calculations, provides insights into plan effectiveness, and partners with cross-functional teams to align compensation with sales strategy. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, pays attention to detail, and has a deep understanding of sales operations and compensation principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and process sales commissions in accordance with compensation plans, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Collaborate across teams to interpret plan documents and apply policies consistently.

  • Help maintain our commissions calculations models (in Spiff and in Excel); audit sales performance data from CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and other data sources.

  • Provide detailed analyses and reports to support leadership decision-making regarding compensation structure, plan effectiveness, and forecasting.

  • Support monthly and quarterly commission cycles, including data validation, dispute resolution, and payout reporting.

  • Assist in the design and modeling of incentive plans.

  • Respond to inquiries from sales team members regarding commission calculations, plan interpretation, and payment timelines.

  • Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 3-6 years of experience in sales compensation, financial analysis, or related areas.

  • Familiarity with Spiff/Captivate IQ/Xactly and CRM/ERP systems such as Salesforce.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data management.

  • Ability to manage sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.

Skills Necessary:

  • Advanced knowledge in commission calculations tool Spiff (or equivalent platforms, such as Captivate IQ, Xactly, or Anaplan). Able to manage backend design, create reports, manage day to day inputs, and perform validations.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work with, and manipulate, large data sets.

  • High level of proficiency in using Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, if/then statements, and other logic formulations within Excel.

  • Beginner level understanding of basic accounting principles such as debits, credits, accruals, payables, expenses etc. would be an added plus.

  • Experience in a SaaS or other high-growth environments.

  • Understanding of sales processes and incentive strategy.

  • Proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset.
