Dow is building a network of qualified candidates for current and future Senior Sales Specialist and Senior Digital Sales Specialist opportunities across our Commercial organization 

 

These positions will primarily be aligned to our major Commercial hubs (Midland, MI, Houston, TX, Collegeville, PA, & Marietta, GA) as well as the Pacific West region. Virtual office may be an option for certain roles and additional locations may become available based on evolving business needs.

 

Senior Sales Specialist Responsibilities 

  • Maintain and expand the account portfolio and Dow presence in the region.
  • Understand the customer needs to differentiate Dow and gain share market.
  • Search new product development opportunities within the market.
  • Maintain customer relationships and expand network to different levels within a customer’s organization.
  • Execute sales/marketing plan, delivering in volume and value. Develop the sales plan aligned to the marketing plan in coordination with other functions.
  • Develop sales forecasts in coordination with Production and Supply Chain.
  • Collects and utilizes market intelligence to shape sales plan. Get and analyze data to take decisions about new product development.
  • Leads and conducts negotiations and develops and implements price strategies aligned with business goals considering legal implications, customs regulations and Dow sales processes.
  • Collaborates with other functions and stakeholders to deliver CX results.

Senior Digital Sales Specialist Responsibilities 

Develop customer pipeline, adding new foundational customers and developing existing customers to ‘Target Growth’ or ‘Priority’.

  • Build strong customer relationships through digital channels and virtual partnership.Act as Dow.com ambassador and drive adoption of the platform with customers. Initial Dow.com account set-up for newly onboarded customers.
  • Lead price/volume negotiations with customers.
  • Maintain and update all pricing in Smartprice
  • Communicate product availability and lead times; troubleshoot availability challenges.
  • Guide customers regarding options within the defined Service Offering Framework
  • Gather high-level market intelligence and customer insights; share within Dow.

Lead & Opportunity Management

  • Grow the portfolio by generating, triaging, routing, developing leads and closing opportunities in line with L&OM guidelines.
  • Maintain and update CRM and internal tools.

Digital Tools and Platforms

  • Obtain and maintain customer forecasts in OMP.
  • Monitor sales vs. Forecast/plan through digital tools and take action accordingly. 
  • Communicate changes in sales forecasts to Product Management and Supply Chain
  • Be an early adopter of new technology, support testing for optimizing commercial tools.
  • Participate in Sales, Product/Marketing strategy calls to obtain business and pricing guidelines.

Support annual review of Channel purchasing strategy (direct/distribution) and segmentation.

Support Order to Cash process to ensure correct invoicing and timely payment collection.

 

Qualifications 

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree at or above a U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.  
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience. 
  • A minimum requirement for these U.S. based positions is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. 

Skills 

  • Business Acumen: Candidate should possess a strong bias for action, solid business acumen and the ability to work cross functionally with various stakeholders. 
  • Sales Analytics Tools: Proficiency in CRM, DSR, OMP, SmartPrice & Microsoft Office. 
  • Communication: Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Multitasking: Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. 
  • Personal Initiative: Strong initiative, ownership, accountability, passion and proactive working attitude. 
  • Negotiation: Strong listening, sales and negotiation skills.
